Have to agree with you on a ‘mutt’ or mongrel as we call them over here. You are right about health concerns compared to pedigree dogs and they tend to show less ‘in-bred’ problems of the kind experienced among Staffies. My current dog is a Border Terrier cross. He was obtained from a rescue centre. When we had him he was painfully thin and subdued. He’d been roaming loose for about six weeks and bore the scars of several fights. We even had to teach him how to play. Now he is a very robust, hardy dog who plays 100% but is equally happy to crash out by the fire or amuse himself with his toys. He is fiercely loyal. I was walking him on my crutches one day when a gang of youths started being aggressive towards me, that is until Duke growled and snarled. Never seen anyone run so fast. He has a wonderful temperament towards both people and other dogs. In fact, on the park I take him to there are a number of dogs of all breeds who get on well and play together without problems.
Here he is by the river at Llangollen in Wales last saturday.

Sorry, just little red crosses here….
I think we do a reasonable job of moderating ourselves anyway. Things can get a bit heated but it generally calms down in the end. I’ve seen situations a lot worse on other forums. It might be difficult for a forum member to retain their objectivity in certain situations.

Those Commando and Battle pocket books were always a good read. Never really got into the Marvel comic books, couldn’t get interested in fictional super heroes when there were plenty of real ones to read about.

VLM Flyer.
Definitely the Beano early on. The Dandy never really appealed. Neither did Whizzer & Chips. Later it was Battle, Warlord and Victor for me.

Once a week I indulge in a session of a new extreme sport. It involves propelling myself around Morrison’s supermarket in my wheelchair. It started off ok but has now intensified into a contact sport. I’ve manged to beat the old lady in her electric wheelchair twice but last week she became aggressive and forced me into the video display aisle. I’ll get her back tomorrow though.
I also have a couple of quiet games of draughts. Subbuteo was good but the hooligan element caused too much trouble.

Or Pram – Teddy = a thread which someone thinks should be pulled?
Perhaps there is a kind of black hole into which these threads disappear, to lurk forever in the dusty reaches of the interweb, biding their time before coming back to haunt those who contributed?
Nah, must be something to do with the correlation between prams and teddies and their respective aerodynamic attributes.
I think Moggy is right. The moderation could be much more oppressive. I get the impression we are largely left to moderate ourselves.

As far as Janie is concerned, I only know what I was told and don’t know whether that’s true or not. Now, as we all know truth is stranger than fiction, so the problem we have now is separating the fiction from the truth. This might cause problems should a book about Janie’s non-appearance ever be published. Would it be classified as fiction or non-fiction? I’ve spoken to Janie about this and she is not forthcoming, especially now she has gone to live in Manchester. Something about better prospects……
Anyway, that’s hopefully cleared things up for you all.

Blue Robin.
I don’t think it was the original bill of sale. If I remember correctly it was a repair bill dated 1933? The best bit was when the owner said he always thought T E Lawrence was a ‘character of fiction.’

If you read what I said on the avatar thread you will notice I was not including you, who is honest about two personas, but others who have in the past used two identities to make accusations, insinuations and threats about and to other forum users. What you are doing is harmless, others may have an altogether more sinister agenda.
