I had an enjoyable visit to Newark as well. Was very impressed by the museum and the scope of it’s contents. Met Tony Dyer who has asked me to post these photos of some of his display. Sorry they aren’t better Tony.

    We’ll start with a Spitfire…..

    Monster500.

Is that a name or a NASCAR race? 🙂

Either your maths are wrong or mine are. I’ve reached the dizzying height of 42 years now, 40 isn’t so bad, well, not so bad as 41, 42, 43 etc…….

Scramble, by Norman Gelb is a superb book which totally revolves around the anecdotes of those who fought the battle.

Squadron Airborne by Elleston Trevor is a novel but is again a superb book seen from the eyes of those who were there.

There are many. i’ll have a look through my collectio and get back to you.

Makes you wonder how long it will be before a serious terrorist with a serious objective manges to get through. Scary stuff.

    Michael.

Congratulations on achieving your majority (the older members will understand that one). Have a really good day.

    Steve Rowell.

You can’t possibly remember your 18th in 1968 can you? Unless of course the 60’s didn’t reach Australia until the 70’s. 🙂 Nice to know there’s someone on here older than me.

Nice to see you come over from Airliner World. Snapper’s done an incredible job with the organisation of all this. it would be great if as many of us as possible managed to turn up for the unveiling. It’s all part of the debt we owe.

    regards,
