Even the targetted mtbf of 5 hours for software is horrible. Sounds like it’s chock full of of expensive gizmos that might not work half the time.

I don’t think the extra 128megs in the 256 card really makes a difference when it comes to gaming. He just bought it to make us all jealous!:p

Yes, but ATI only recently started to make Pro cards with 256 megs of onboard memory. So it’s probably a 9600 or 9800. I don’t remember if the 9700s came in a 256 version.

I thought I read that among the problems with the An-70, one was not having enough time to properly develop the engines/propellers. If that was the case, I don’t see why if they’ve had prior experience with the Yak-44.

As an alternative, Yakovlev developed the Yak-44 (E-2C lookalike) as a carrier-borne AWACS, but the breakup of the Soviet Union etc….
