A question about Pinkov- images frequently used by Jane’s which are accredited to Pinkov are usually almost identical to ones taken by amateurs overseas. Now I don’t want to impugn Pinkov’s character, but is he just taking pictures from the net and passing them as his own?

I fact, I usually look who is the author, not the magazine. I know “Pinkov” and believe he has some good information. But, in general, I try to check all at original sources.

Well for you that’s easy, but for an amateur, I just take their word for it.

May I ask another question? Jane’s AWA is the only source that I have seen that states that co-production of the Su-27 will end at ~80 craft, then switch over to production of the MKK. How did this come to be, and is this still believed to be the future scenario?

Any idea what the avionics kits that were delivered were, or consisted of? It seems like a pretty big translation error (I don’t know, since I don’t speak Russian) to confuse upgrades or SK with SM/SK(U)?
