Just wondering, the Yak-130 is produced by the Sokol production plant in Nizhy Novogrod, which was recently put under full RSK MiG control (after being a close partner, because this plant has build various MiG planes). Now in recent times often the production plant did the sales and marketing for the products they produced and handed 7% percent of its sales to the OKB. As far as I know the Nizhy Novogrod plant an its investors are the owners or the plane and have the rights to produce them, not the Yakovlev OKB which has been bought by IAPO.

So I think its rather premature to say that Irkut (IAPO) will start producing and selling the Yak-130. Its intresting however how the sole competitor of the MiG-AT is produced in a plant under RSK MiG control.

By the way, the reason why the Sokol plant will be the production location of future single and dual seat MiG-29s after the Moscow production facility has been sold and turned into new condo’s. In the history they only produced the dual seater.

I doubt that Irkut would buy 3/4 of Yakolev if it knew that it couldn’t get its grubby hands on the Yak-130.

    Sturmovik – A-10 or Su-25
    Fighter-Bomber – Tornado, JH-7, MiG-27 or Jaguar

    See the difference?

That seems a bit unnecessary to have this extra stand-alone Shturmovik upgrade, when the plane isn’t even a dedicated CAS like the A-10/Su-25. Why not just ship it in multi-role form, and enable it to carry ATGMs and the like?

    Thanks overscan for the translation!

What exactly is the difference between Shturmovik and fighter-bomber?

I just miss the Total war-Shogun times when my assasins would finish enemy army commanders or even faction leaders just before the battle begins.

You can still assassinate generals with assassins in MTW, it’s just much harder.

Yah, cannons reallt stink. I tried them out in the custom mode, amassing my own grande batterie a la Napoleon, and they couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn, or a bunch of tightly packed cavalry. They’re ok for bombarding stationary, packed formations of troops though at long range.

What’s really effective are the naptha throwers- their ancient grenades can really deal a wallop to any attacking close packed infantry formations. They take out probably 50-60 men in one throw. Can cause any formation, no matter how elite, to rout usually in one or two throws.

No new info yet, but now that Irkut has acquired Yakolev, they are eagerly making their way into the international trainer market.

Managing everything can be a real pain in MTW, especially when your empire gets very large, but nothing can beat MTW in terms of RTS and real-time battles. I think they address that problem in rome:total war.

The historical battles are fantastic. Playing the Battle of Stirling Bridge was awesome, just trying to hold off the English on the bridge. Bannockburn, don’t know how the English managed to lose there with the vastly superior forces.

How’s the Viking add-on? The organ cannon sounds pretty nifty (is it like ana ncient machine gun)? and I hear there are additional features in defending a castle, e.g. dumping boiling oil on attacking troops?

Oops, just read the part about your not installing it yet.

As a General in the Koaladian Army I must disagree with you, we are koala warriors. The only urine sniffing that is going to happen are when we pee on the faces of the Australian aggressors! VIVA KOALALANDIA!!!!! 🙂

Yes, but these are the 20,000 sickly koalas that are too skinny to make good warriors. Why not sell them to the Americans, and use the generated cash to finance the Royal Koalandian Army?

No these topics are in general good humoured and help to while away the time.

Every threads doesn’t have to be serious or factual, and as has been said before if you doen’t like the subject don’t read it, it’s as simple as that.

Hey hey, no need to get all defensive and huffy. You can see that my original post was not intended to be taken seriously anyhow.
