This mysterious missile is NOT an R 530 of any shape or description. Would anyone like to hazard another guess?

As for C-701, it’s not really a Chinese Maverick as it has no air-launched application. C-701 remains a weapon for smaller naval vessels and no aircraft integration is planned, for now. Quite what’s happening in Iran with it is anyone’s guess…

It was rumored that the C-701s arm the fast attack catamaran boats that Iran bought from China 2 years ago.

Which makes me wonder, how effective could an anti-ship subsonic missile like the Kh-59MK be? Probably more effective against land based targets.

Is there any plan to develop it into stand-off variant? 😮

I believe the Kh-59MK version for China has a 285 km range and fixed, not movable canards.

Original Kh-59: rocket motor
Kh-59M: R-95-300 turbojet for 3x the range
Kh-59MK: new 36MT turbofan engine, active seeker head instead of TV guidance, uses upgraded ARGS-35 seeker (ARGS-35 is used on the Kh-35).

Once the upgraded F3 standard becomes available for export in 2006, it ought to boost sales, or at least make the Rafale more competitive on the market.

Kwicky Koala was unavailable for comment. Seriously, Australia ought to consider exporting them overseas to pet shops. I’m sure they’d make loads of $$$.

Now if a cat eats a mouse, is the cat going to taste like a mouse? Or if the cat eats a chicken, will it taste like chicken? I swear, sometimes when I eat beef, it tastes like grass.
