How do you know that’s for the J-10?
butt shot of yours truly.
One more from songfq.
If it’s a Mangusta, then I suppose that suggests that the radar system is for export.
Or maybe I’m just reading too much into it- maybe the artists were lazy, and instead of inserting a proper image in, they decided to go wtih the Mangusta for who knows what reasons.
Turkey just balked again over the AH-1Z deal due to lack of tech transfer.

Yeah, I’m such an idiot. Didn’t notice the pole.
/slaps self on head.
Thought it was an A-129! Now what is it doing in a Chinese brochure, I don’t know.
I believe the CLC-3 has only been shipped to domestic users.
Didn’t China sign an agreement a few years ago to lease a couple of A-50Us, and to purchase 4 A-50Es? I wonder if they’ll still be needing those A-50Es, or perhaps, like other purchasing trends, I would imagine they they would just be a stopgap measure to boost capability until the indigenous product can be manufactured in large quantities and better quality.
Yeah. Here’s the link provided by crobato.
I blew it up here for a better view.
even larger picture from DS.
CFTE emblem quite visible.
Same Y-8C radar testbed type craft, but different nose this time.
And the J-10’s radar, is being tested on this Y-8C, which may or may not (my money’s on the may not) be the same as the KLJ-3. We’ve never seen the radar nose of the Y-8C opened up, and there’s nothing to confirm that the one on the An-24 is the same as the one on the Y-8C which is the same one on the J-10.
Just realized that my calculations for the Y-8 test craft may be wrong, depending on exactly where the antenna is located. In my assumption before, it is located to the rear of where the technician is adjusting the wires. It could very well be located in the small cone, resulting in a much lower diameter.
While it is possible that the J-11 and J-10 may share the same radar, I think that this is the more likely alternative.
This blue hued radar, whether it really is the KLJ-3/Type 1473 or not, is for the J-11.
