Ah, so now the tune is being changed from WMD to terrorists? Besides Saddam’s giving money to the families of palestinian suicide bombers, which has nothing to do with Al-Qaeda, there has never been any evidence of Al-Qaeda terrorists working with Saddam. Powell admitted as much this year, but now that there is a power vacuum in the region, of course there are a gazillion crazy AQ wackos all waiting to blow up the US.

On January 8, 2004, Powell conceded that despite his assertions to the United Nations last year, he had no “smoking gun” proof of a link between the government of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein and terrorists of Al Qaeda. “I have not seen smoking-gun, concrete evidence about the connection,” Mr. Powell said, in response to a question at a news conference.

The removal of Saddam from Iraq was a stabilizing factor int he region

Would you care to explain how this is so? Now all the ethnic groups in Iraq are at each other’s throats, and the situation is far less controlled than in the Saddam-era. In fact, without a strong Iraq, a resilient and rising Iran will be forthcoming.

My secret friend, an imaginary leprechaun, told me that there’s going to be a joint production of this newfangled thing soon.

Yeah, his ‘secret friend’. If he could learn to spell, he might be more believable.

Yeah, Zhemchoug is a bit too big for FC-1, and too small for J-10. That would be an interesting story if it were for the J-8IIs, or at least ordered to study and improve on the radar for the J-8IIs. Was it ever confirmed that 100 sets of the Zhuk-8II were ordered?

The Zhemchoug can’t be for the J-10 because its diameter is too small, ~ 680mm, whereas the J-10 would appear to have a large diameter ~ 900+mm nose. This is from my estimates using the PL-8 diameter as a base reference. IMO, it is more likely that the Sokol testing was for the J-10, and Zhemchoug for FC-1.

More to the point- I think the JH-7A has an uncertain future.

Probably the project with the most uncertain future is the FC-1. The J-7G and J-8IIH are low cost upgrades and can’t be discarded simply because there won’t be enough J-10s/Sukhois to fill the gap.

I think it might be mroe likely that the Zhemchoug was for the FC-1 project, although that’s only speculation on my part.

How would they know? There’s no external difference between an MK2 and an MKK afaik.

There is generally a correlation between population and size of military; comparatively speaking, the US’s military is large for a country whose population is ~ 5 times less than that of China’s.

Besides, the PLA is slimming down and transferring most of its decommissioned troops to the PAP.

How about you can go attack Iran, and if you make it back alive, come back and report about it.

And Sigourney Weaver said she would like to do a final one, though now it’s Ridley more than Cameron, tho Ridley will probably not be directing. 🙁
