China imported 20 sets of the Sokol/Zhuk-MSF in 2001? Or did someone mix up the Zhuk-MSF and Zhuk-MSE?

The Panda would probably be NIIP’s contribution to the effort, no?

    Sokol/Zhuk-MSF seen below.

Has the Zhuk-MSE been decided as the radar of choice for the MK3s, or is there still competition from the “new NIIP-produced fire-control radar (JDW Jan 2003).”? I assume they’re referring to the NIIP Pero complex.

Re: China’s import of 20 Sokol sets, I wanted to confirm that it is the image shown here- the Zhuk-MSF?

AvPII had a great storyline, plus the chance to command Alice. Wow- hope they make that into a movie. or Alien 5.

Unless they purchase more quantities, I don’t see the Su numbers rising at a large rate.

Any idea how many will be in the MK3 batch (40?), and when that might be?

They make it sound so top secret with the words ‘secret data’. It was just an insert in the article about the MK2 delivery.

“Sukhoi had by early this year delivered 154 aircraft to China, mainly comprising Su-27SK fighters. Adding these to the newly acquired Su-30MK2s and Su-27SKs built locally in Xinjiang, China, will mean that 273 advanced Sukhoi fighters will be in service by the end of the year”

If anybody bothered to count the numbers from open source data, it would be similar anyhow.

It’s eerily similar to the soon-to-be-released game called Soldat- where mercenaries fight all future wars.

According to another source, the private security guards hired by various British firms now outnumber the force of British troops there (~8700) and include all types of people- Brits, Gurkhas, Fijians, etc…

I meant small relative to other countries, e.g. Russia, or Ukraine, or Israel or US etc.. And by defense industry, I meant those industries that are oriented towards upgrades.

OK, just checked, it’s called the T-55 S1, very impressive for a domestic upgrade from a fairly small defense industry.

Mainly upgrade of main gun, addition of extra armor (Israeli Super Blazer ERA), and indigenous electronics.

In field conditions meaning bullets flying everywhere and PGMs raining down? I think reloading would probably take a bit longer than advertised under those conditions.:)
