The RNHF really, really need to concentrate on the aircraft they have. Sadly the heydays of the 1980s and 1990s, where they were able to field pairs of Sea Furies and Swordfish, Seahawk and Firefly week in, week out are long gone. Now they are really struggling to field anything at all. I don’t think they’ve managed a single event this year yet. I’m sure they do their best, but talk of them taking on additional aircraft, such as the Sea Vixen, fills me with despair.

It seems that he shone on for a little longer! 🙂

Why would you think it is only a small prospect? From the tone of the CWHM press release it would seem like pretty much a done deal, with only dotting the Is and crossing the Ts to be done before it becomes a reality.

It has now been delivered to the owner, having made a total of 4 flights (including the delivery flight) I believe. It is reported that it will be stored, as the owner apparently has no intention of operating it.

An amazing project, I dread to think how many tens of millions of Euros it will end up costing (including building a hangar up in not-so-sunny Maine to undertake the rebuild in).

I’m not sure that I’d call that either encouraging or discouraging, it sounds like a blanket ‘we don’t know what’s going on’ statement to me.
