You’re not allowed to take a tripod or monopod into the museum, the museum staff call them ‘stands’ which is what you’d expect in a Science Museum!

And yet there are plenty of abandoned strollers littering the place, completely unattended, while their occupants run amok, even though you’re not allowed to use a tripod. Still, ‘rules is rules’.

I had an enjoyable time, and it was great to see the progress on the Monospar. I really must come back and take a closer look at it sometime soon.

Highlight for me was a chap selling prints of his paintings. The rather nice one of the Comet looked very familiar, and it turned out he had painted it from one of my A2As of Tom Wathen’s replica in California, which was published in the late, lamented ‘Aircraft Illustrated’ three or four years back. He’d captured Robin’s moustache and David Clark headset perfectly. 🙂

Quite possibly, if I can summon up the enthusiasm and if the weather is reasonable.
