They posted on Facebook earlier this week that they’ve just taken delivery of their fifth airworthy engine, but beyond that detailed information as to their plans seems hard to come by

The Widgeon is from the Norfolk and Suffolk Air Museum at Flixton. It was roaded to Sywell for a Sloane Helicopters anniversary event

Some excellent news from the International Bomber Command Centre Facebook page:

“Great news!! Donald Nicholson who lost his medals on the way to last week, which launched a wide media campaign to help find the WW2 medal strip, has been reunited with them this afternoon. They were handed in at a police station. Donald has asked us to send huge thanks to everyone who has supported the search from volunteers with metal detectors, to those offering replacements or rewards through to everyone in the media. What a great end to the week!”

    Really ??

Yes, really. As I said, it happened a couple of months back.

ASN is an unofficial privately-run site, not an official source.

I thought that MoD policy was now not to issue treasure hunting licences where the possibility of human remains is suspected.

Wrong sort of Sparrowhawk, think Miles. And I suspect he’s doing more than just ‘mentioning’ it. 🙂

Seriously? Where do you think the BBMF comes from. The Red Arrows? How many tens of millions of people see those two over the course of a year? And while they don’t field as much as they once did, they still provided display teams for the Typhoon, Chinook and Tutor this year, as well as the Hawk T2 pair role demo.

HAC’s dH9 should be ready by/for next year too.

…as well as the Shuttleworth Camel. Maybe also the East Fortune Strutter perhaps?

If they are building the HP42…

I have serious doubts about the existance of the whole project, including the story about a sercret supply of engines from Eastern Europe. I’d love to be proved wrong, but I’m not holding my breath.
