    Yes, the wings fold (manually) outboard of the wheel wells, then there is another fold point at the tip

    Alan, there really isn’t an ‘equivalent Spitfire’ (low-back fuselage and short Griffon). Added to the fact that the Seafire has folding wings, it is really a different type entirely.

    I really don’t know where you get the idea that CAF did anything other than assemble the Varsity and give it a coat of paint. What is this ‘restoring it so well’ that they are supposed to have done?

    Seems like an awful waste of effort restoring the machine so well.

    No idea on the P-40, but the organisers probably decided that it wasn’t worth the effort to truck the Hurricane from Turweston only to be able to tow it up and down the crowdline. Probably better to wait until it has actually flown before it makes its first airshow appearance. 🙂

    I believe the static airframes have been handed over to a new group started by some former Classic Air Force volunteers at Newquay, who are attempting to make a go of a museum there.
