The question is for real, why not?
Teams are (were?) scouring the Russian tundras for aircraft wrecks. The prinicple is the same, perhaps some wreckage is still extant (Attacker, Halifax, Tempest etc.).

Would it be possible to visit crash-sites in Pakistan then to find any components that might be of use in a reconstruction of either an Attacker (or dare I say it) a Spitful?

Used in many RAF types during WW II, I have two for my Halifax project.

i agree with Tony,
If you make parts using drawings you only have to pay for the costs in material and your spare time, and the costs are low.
If you want to buy completed or original items then costs will incease immensely. Considering that, the amount of money I spent on the
Halifax cockpitproject is very low. It helps to have a good source of second hand alumnium and using off cuts for small parts/brackets etc. Being Dutch also helps (I bring my own lunch).:D

So, what lessons have there been from the past 5/10/20/30/100 years ?
Some of the usual suspects:
– dont do aeros near the ground.
– dont run out of fuel.
– make sure the runway is long enough.Have they really been learnt?
The only lesson would be to take people’s egos uit the equation, but
that will never happen.

EF545 (G-CDGY) & AD540, to name two in the UK.
Isn’t that the northern territory Spitfire that was recovered from crocodile infested waters?
Lancaster Mk VII installation? Probably using Shackleton (BBMF batch?) tyres.
but no doubt there are people in the know here who have the definitive answer

Pity Mark,
But thanks for you patience and hard work keeping ICC alive.I admit that I steered away from ICC after the early years but irregularly checked the forum.
Good luck with the various projects you are pursuing.

David Stansfield likes to keep a low profile so it seems, any pics of the Albemarle sections he has, perhaps this forum can be of help in the quest for parts etc.

IIRC at the time it was even mentioned on FlugWerk’s website.
Some components were built for Black Six I believe, they are now doing
some nice work on Mustang assemblies. Would be nice to see some Typhoon fuselages and wings being built from scratch.

They are Steve,
Are there any pics of the scrappings of the Canadian Lancasters?
