I agree David,
I am probably influence by the three dvd I saw yesterday about NX611 at East Kirkby and the work the Panton Brothers did to her.

OK, thanks for the background information, but a lone rear fuselage section looks odd don’t you agree?

Thanks Cees
I’m surprised you never started a halifax turret – there must be plenty of bits around in Holland?
Well, yes …bits that would be the best way to describe it.
We have a Stirling tailturret in good condition that was recovered from a lake. That would be the best way to find a reasonably complete turret project on the continent. Two years ago I was offered a Halifax type E tailturret (thanks again for thinking of me, you know who you are 😉 ) in very good condition for a good price but as we had just bought our currect house, cash was the problem. Pity, as I think a turret is a fantastic piece of machinery. The Military Aircraft Museum at Soesterberg has a FN 5 turret in excellent condition but they are doing nothing with it and sits in storage.

Yes, just read it. Someone sent me an e-mail about this site. Well, let’s hope LW170 is found and will be brought up. But if so it already has a throttle box heh heh.

Pity about that Lancaster rear fuselage, that could be put to better use IMHO.

And it’s reserve not met. I agree with Junk Collector.
Just to get it of my chest:p
I had been looking for a throttle box for eight years without any luck, or those exant weren’t available and now this one turns up. Anyone know who Hurricat is?
Bolyman, I suspect those Lanc bits will turn up eventually but at what price.

Wow Elliott, that”s looking great already.
Keep it up

Seconded the York but it would need to be in RAF markings.
For myself I’d want the Hamilcar at Middle Wallop finished – of course I’d also need someone to put a Halifax back in the air to give me a tug.
Ok,
I’ll vote for Halifax A VII NA337 then
It’s got the glider cradle already fitted.

Although some parts for the floor (including the driveshaft mounting) were made. The RR historical society published a book about this very interesting project. I have a copy somewhere, but where…….

155 pounds already with one week still to go.
That would be one to look out,
Thanks Linzee,

David,
Can’t help you with that but I have a Pegasus handbook dated march 1940
available.

Definitely an oil cooler. It looks like the Halifax type that goes between the two circular coolant radiators. They are certainly elliptical in shape.
Pete
I agree about that one too Peter
The later Halifaxes used Morris block radiators. Before that these were
in fashion. We recovered on from Mk II JB803.
