Shame we can’t just conjure up a Short Stirling (or two) out of these lakes !

Yes we can (or at least the RAF Sub Aqua Club) but it was abandoned after the wreck was found to be in 28 (ish) large parts in a thick polluted layer of silt and there were some human remains on board. The latter was the reason for stopping the project. He who was responsible for this decision should be hanged from his b*lls in the heighest tree.

We DO need a Stirling on display!

But who knows what might surface in the years to come. Who would have thought a Kondor would be found.

    Cheers

Thanks for thinking of me chaps but I already have an original Halifax control wheel and column in excellent condition (it’s the throttle box I still need)

But these pics and the HP provenance really make me greedy you know 😀

What’s the story behind the contol wheel? Always curiuos how things end up where.

Yes I know (heavy sigh) I am that transparent.

The control wheel and brake control levers are identical
to the Halifax one and carry the same partnumbers.

Good to hear there has een some success with the project Elliott.

What are the plans regarding constructing things? I believe you were preparing to start construction on a forward fuselage. is there sufficient information available to do such a thing?

I wonder if there ever will be a time that I can say that I picked up a Halifax throttle box. :diablo:

At least the wait would have been very very long 😀

Oh and any pilot who can manage to crash his aircraft in the Dutch mountains should be recommended for excellent airmanship (instead of being reprimanded). Although it would need some very low flying.

I just noticed that I have been fond of the wrong aircraft, look here

So that’s what a Halifax looks like. I am building the wrong cockpitsection.

Glad I found out in time………….

    Just my opinin but………

During wartime if you were playing around to check if (friendly) others were alert, then you were mad as hell. Even at night over enemy territory. Nobody would be sane enough to do such a thing.
