A friend had one of these People who put their seats right back the second they sit down claming “it’s broken” only for them to put it up as they get up to get off in front of him, so he got “air sick” and started to “gag” right over them the seat fixed it’s self quicker than a Lightning on take off! and never reclined again for the rest of the flight. :diablo:

Without Googling I can not think of one film sean penn has been in.
Thing is he is American he is an “actor” he thinks he has the right to speak on issue he knows nothing about, he clearly has not got the dangle danglies to visit the people of the Falklands to speak to them.
Fordair are to operate a charter to Turkey for its staff later this year.
Still only a story that might happen but lets keep fingers crossed it for more than one year.
Might even get to see an Airbus A319 in the display, shame Easyjet don’t have the A380 in their fleet!
Missed it, what were they saying?
The 2011 passenger figures put Southend at No42 out of the 55 airports watched. A total of 42439 passengers used Southend in 2011, works out at 117 per day, this is the Aer Arann/Flybe services, works out at an increase of 1085% 😮
Must be one of the fastest growing airports in the UK what with Easyjet started up this year who knows what the numbers will be next time round.
Not sure about Jack Jones, but IMO, Freddie Laker would be quite appropriate, bearing in mind the connection between him, the Carvair, and Southend Airport
I wouldn’t mind that. I met her once when she came into the supermarket that I worked in. I was on the ‘deli counter’ at the time, and she always bought her favourites, a quarter of corned beef, and smoked ham. She was a nice, very cheerful and down to earth lady Some of todays ‘celebrities’ could do with some of her humility. God rest her.
Not taking it too far from aviation but todays “celebrities” are all me me me if the press dare print a negative story about them then the sue sue sue, when they want the publicity they love thre press the second they “celeb” get caught out doing some thing naughty than they run to court to ban the press from printing the story…
As for a name for Southend stick with Southend Airport nothing wrong with that name its had it since Wednesday 18th September 1935 when he airport was officially opened by Sir Phillip Sassoon if we have to have the London bit forst than so be it but lets just keep it as it is.
Street Lights Shortened.
Some of the comments are crazy, the guy named Jayman is very anti-Southend Airport but pro Isle of Grian becaus eplanes will not fly over his house 😡
STREETLIGHTS close to the end of the extended Southend Airport runway are being made shorter.
Air safety regulations demand the lights next to the A127, close to the RBS and Tesco roundabout in Westcliff, had to be reduced in height.
The work is part of the package of measures to get the airport ready for regular easyJet flights, due to start in April.
Already, the same shorter street lights have been installed the complete length of Nestuda Way.
This runs across the end of the runway, which needs to be 300 metres longer to accommodate the increase in business.
The move comes after residents were left outraged last month following the chopping down of seven trees along Prince Avenue, between the junctions with Exford Avenue and Dulverton Avenue. This was also to make allowances for low-flying planes.
Three more trees were pruned to comply with the Civil Aviation Authority rules.
Plus, television aerials will also have to go from homes in the flight path.
Some residents in the surrounding area have already received letters asking them to remove their aerials because of aviation regulations.
Graham Longley, leader of the Lib Dem group in Southend, said: “I honestly don’t think for a minute we are going to have a plane the level of an aerial or lamp post.
“The airport has the right to do these things in law. It is not something we can do a great deal about.”
