It was from right next to where XS456 is now. My Mum knows one of the a/c owners. It was my 18th birthday present…

When I was stationed at Seletar to support the Lightnings (air radar M.U.) I heard a story that told of a Warrant Officer who was deployed on a cargo ship on which several Lightnings were stowed as deck cargo. Although fully cocooned, sea water had gotten in through some tears and the plane/s was/were severely corroded. It was said that the W.O. was pissed all the way from Blighty to Singa’s and got himself court marshaled.

XV329 was one of the affected Lightnings

Very first airfield where i had my first flying lesson btw!

Didnt know they did flying lessons on this new airfield, far as i’m aware its private, are you sure it wasnt the old Ingoldmells aerodrome?

Which cockpit would that be?

In one of the buildings theres a night bombing, Blitz type thing. I assume thats the one, but I thought that was built for some film or other….all very vague on my part.

Wing Commander H Kulshrestha so I read on FB last year was over here flying the BBMF Chipmunk’s. I dont know if he progressed onto the Spits or Hurricane.

Whats left of the cockpit of the Mig-29 at Wisbech, this is the predominant Mig in the video not the one that came down in a flat spin. And yes I was there also

The retirement has been moved back to September because of ongoing problems with that Airbus thing
