Thanksfor the kind comments, was giving the Kodak porta uc film another try, for those of you still using 35mm I would recommend it highly. lovely. Sadly my 100-300mm doesn’t boast the greatest optics but the results arn’t too bad.

Sad news, just thinking of his films reveals a list of all time classics and sometimes iconic moments; Ryan’s Daughter, Ice Cold in Alex, The Colditz Story, Gandhi, The End of the Affair, the list just goes on.

How many pictures left? Surely there can’t be many. I’ve almost gone through an entire University Degree in the time it took to send that Camera round 🙂

good point Daz, I downloaded a piece of software a while back that was a trial to allow the creation of these files. I shall try and find it again tomorrow and will let you know what I find. You need to have an original video of a spit though and then you can select and resize a few files to use in the GIF format. My lancaster avatar is from a video I took and then I took a frame every few seconds to make a complete file.

    Best Regards, Steve

IMO, the special effects were vastly superior to the much bigger-budget Pearl Harbor, despite Dark Blue World not having the money or resources for them. Not to mention that it’s been, what, four years since DBW, so technology will have improved a bit by now.

the shot of the spitfire crashing into the sea………………….

Cartridge shells are fair game, they are unobtrusive and blend with the action as opposed to cutting from a pure film shot to BBC-esque special effects. Sometimes what you DON’T see is more impressive than what you DO see.

    Is your name Stewart 😉

Perhaps I agree anout eight years being long enough but im not quite sure ‘economically’ incompetent’ is fair. Im sure there will many people who will have benefitted from some of Labours better moves (ie minimum wage for example).

Anyway, we all (all those who are registered anyhow) get our chance to have our say come May 5th.

    Best Regards, Steve

i hate to bring politics into this, i really do but i blame the labour government. apologises go out to any labour supporters. if Sally B returns to the states i think we should be grateful that we had the opertunity to see her fly. her testmant will live on whatever side of the pond shes on.

Why do you blame the Labour Government Stewart?

How dose the Battle of Britian Memorial Flight fair in all this, or is it under someone else’s banner. Said once by a learned friend in aviation,”We are our own worst enemy, we will end up regulating our selfs out of the skies”. Personaly I think if burecrats had Sh1t for brains, they could not soil their underwear. They seem to know the price of everything but the value seems to very conveniently excape them.

Somebody much more knowledgeable than I can qualify this but the BBMF are covered by the MOD. Im not sure if they are ‘insured’ as such as I can imagine it would cost a fortune to insure all equipment and I would hazard a guess that the military would rather just pay out of their pockets as and when they have to as opposed to insuring.

As I said, someone out there can confirm and correct me on this.
