This is very sad news but remember, we do live in a democracy and you are quite welcome, if you feel strongly enough about a given subject, to go and find your local MP and ask him to do what he/she can on this subject. Alternatively, letters can be written to MPs or even the media.
AJ March has also given a constructive link for makiing donations.
Damien, maybe we would be able to put the ‘great’ back into Britain if everyone actually did something, within the law, about things they felt strongly about. Just a thought.

is that a good thing?
disaster as young george mixed up 16 and 61 on the humbol colour chart
Lovely photos and thanks for sharing, admittedly though, like 99% of artificially aged photos, they still don’t look anything like period images. Still cracking shots though.
Congratulations Kev.
Sandtoft? The watch office there is now a home.
The original was good because it had some basis in truth. In fact, it had a lot of basis in the truth as it was based on the book by Pat Reid who spent time there. I still believe that whilst a lot of modern second world war films crow about accuracy, you still have to go back to British war films of the 50s to capture what are the truth behind an event.
Take for example films like ‘The Colditz Story’, ‘The Wooden Horse’, ‘Reach for the Sky’ and ‘The Dambusters’ which follow faithfully respected books on the subjects. These films also didn’t feel they had to embellish an already rivetting story and add sideshow plots which usually revolve around some pretty WAAF or other. 🙂
Stormin, thanks for that, time nearer the date would be appreciated. many thanks, steve
Damien is right, usually they do although when I was a fair bit younger I was refused permission to photograph the plastic Spitfire at Benson, younger Steven thought. ‘Its only a plastic Spitfire’, older Steven thinks, ‘why did I want to photograph a plastic 1:1 model? 🙂
James, thanks for the links and tips. I can’t get enough of Art Galleries. Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art are on my list for New York. They have a few works inparticular that i would like to see including ‘The Musicians’ – Caravaggio and The Fortune Teller – Georges de La Tour. Have you been to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and if so what was your opinion of it. Their website is quite a sprawl to find works.
Should be quite an adventure. never had the experience of such a long haul flight before as my flying has been restricted to Europe so far. Flying KLM to Schipol and then to JFK from there, a chance to catch up on some reading.

However, I see on his IMDb page he also recently played Jeffrey Archer, agggh!!!??
It was quite an amusing program. Basically it was a fantasy history of his life according to Archer himself including a seriously cringe worthy love seen between the charcter of Archer and M. Thatcher.
Terrible program with a most ludicrous storyline. As if the POW element wasn’t interesting enough, they had to introduce a most unbelievable love triangle to the mix.
busy with uni work till the 9th May but if anyone has any times for the lancs pre airshow practices then i would love to know as Coningsby is near enough and convenient enough to get to from here (and by bus too)
thanks, steve
definately a model,
knowing that some of our more nervous members may be afraid of ghosts and thus avoiding that particular thread, i shall repost here 🙂
