Mk 19? surely you mean mk14 edgar.RM689 was a yucky blue colour in the 60s,think it was the rolls-royce house colours of that time.

If you put all the factors of the incident together the out come could not have been better.God knows what was going through Chris,s mind when things started going wrong but he did what he could with what he had and what he did was bloody marvelous saving him self and the aircraft from serious damage and very possible serious injury to him self. His skill and training played a serious role in surviving this incident.Although the aircraft will be missing from air shows for some time both pilot and aircraft will return to the air which is the best out come any body can want.

Yesterday was a good day for spotting historic aircraft.Over hull during the afternoon was a yellow nosed mustang(Ferocious Frankie?)making its way south closely followed by PA474,PZ865 and TE311 from the BBMF.Sally B was also heading south to the east side of hull around 5pm.Shortly after arriving back home the two wing walking steamans flew over the house heading south towards leicester.A good day for spotting!

We already have a buchon in its film colours so another would be pretty pointless. As regards the spitfire does it matter weather its in film colours or not?Unlike the IWM mk1 which is still in an in service paint job and is practically untouched this mk9 has had quite a few different owners and paint jobs over the years so losing it during any restoration wouldn’t be a huge loss. There’s other former film aircraft and vehicles that have lost there film colours over the years and are now just an aircraft or vehicle that stared in ……film.
