Stockmarket
Vintage Wrenchbender. By the way, I bought fifteen hundred shares of United stock about 3 weeks ago, and it’s more than doubled since. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, BABY!!!
I never have but I can explain it to you. First of all, residents of Europe do not apply, just as residents of the U.S. cannot purchase a N. American Star pass. If I was to purchase a roundtrip ticket from the U.S. to Europe, I would tell my Star Alliance agent that I want a Euro pass. I then pay for the segments at the time of the booking, and must specify total number of segments and what they are. The price of each segment is calculated by number of miles, with $65 being the smallest amount, lets say for a segment less than 500 miles, or something. You must have AT LEAST 2 stopovers, that do not include your inbound or outbound city. The stopover must be at least 24 hours in duration. I believe the maximum amount of stopovers is six. Let’s say my inbound city was LHR and my first ‘segment’ was to fly to ATH. I would fly Austrian via VIE and this would count as 2 segments, which would be calculated accordingly, but only 1 stopover, unless I stayed in VIE over 24 hours. If I did, I would then have my 2 stopover once I got to ATH. I would then make my way back to LHR and return to the U.S. Now, you can obviously do more ‘stopovers.’ I simply gave an example of the minimum criteria. You can make changes en route, provided you pay the $75 fee, or whatever it might be, in addition to any changes in segment mileage. That’s kind of a rough sketch. If there are any details that are uncertain, I’d be happy to explain it better. I’ve actually enquired about one of these with UA’s travel agents prior to finalizing my Portugal trip, which is why I’m familiar with it. Price-wise, it’s not too bad. Had this been available 2 years ago when I did what I just described, sans the VIE stopover, it would have saved me money.
Congrats Mark on 1000.
Are Sempati and Merpati still around?
Did the flammable liquid ignite upon contact, or did he actually light it with his person?
Any idea why they are canceling the order? Are they not happy with the type, or something?
I’m surprised the tires didn’t blow out, which would have prevented it from taxiing any further, I would imagine.
Good to have you back.
Elias, where have you been?

Someone even suggested strapping two RB211’s to the back of a 727. Crazy
Would that even be able to “stay on all three’s” and not tip over with all that weight in the back?
Spruce Goose was never intended to be a commercial airliner. It was supposed to be a military transport.
Sorry guys, I know you’re all going to hate me for this, but I vote for the Concorde. How many were produced, 16-18?

HIGHLY unlikely that the 727 will return. Now, I would say that his statement was misunderstood. Boeing has released some information on a 717-300 which is a stretch over the current 200., that is what I think was mentioned. Also, it was understood that Boeing wanted to sell it partly as a business aircraft. Hence, this could be a possible reason for the extreme range that would be needed for FRA-ORD.
This is spot on info here. This is clearly the rumor that you heard, Mr. Airline Owner. There’s no way in hell that Boeing is going to re-produce a tri-jet. Why do you think all their planes now, except the 744, have 2 engines? Furthermore, they wouldn’t spend millions upon millions to redesign the fuselage, which is what it would cost to do what you indicated, “make it wider, taller, longer.” Boeing isn’t doing too good at the moment. You honestly think they’re going to spend millions to design a plane nobody is going to buy, as a stop-gap until the 7E7 rolls out? Come on now!!
Perhaps they are taking up ex-SQ examples at a bargain rate rather than paying for brand new A345’s or A346’s. I know GulfAir has a few of the ex-SQ A343’s, but where are the rest? Is Airbus going to cease production of -200/-300 series anytime soon because of the 2 new series?
