I forgot about TAP. Was I correct about Air Liberte, or were they never in it?

So do Net Jets, but I doubt I’ll ever fly with them either. 😀United to Dulles and O’Hare will do for me.
Mike
Net Jets, nice!
Nice. Being near C-bus, you might have to start flying America’s Worst, errrrrrrrrr…. West. 😉 They have a hub there.

Off to live in America after that 😀
Where at Mike?
If the 727 is to fly 8,400 nautical miles, it will have no lowerdeck cargo hold as it will be replaced by fuel tanks. Where are they going to put all the baggage?
How could Bae-146’s operate into LCY and not ERJ-145’s?

This August, Singapore AL begins NS service between EWR and SIN. A polar route, correct??
Correct, same flight time ‘eastbound’ and ‘westbound.’

And actually not as long as the LAX-SIN route in nautical miles, but is atually longer in statue miles I believe.
How does that work?

#3. Is the east-bound lroute of ATL-JNB on a 346 at 8,439 miles (the westbound route JNB-ATL stops for refueling at SID).
Where is SID?

Hold on what are the other A 345’s doing:9V-SGA is flying to LAX
9V-SGB ???
9V-SGC ???
9V-SGD ???
9V-SGE ???So where is the others flying
Well, since the flight is daily, then that requires 2 aircraft. One coming, one going. So then where are the other 3? Probably operating regional Asian routes at the moment.

A complicated balancing act between payload (pax + cargo) and range. I understand that in the southern summer (peak period) months the headwinds can be outside of the envelope with a heavy load. Fiji (Nadi) has reasonable landing fees but it adds at least 90 minutes to the already long flight and they don’t let you off to stretch your legs.
I’ve flown to SYD from LAX/SFO and I’ve never had this happen, thank god. If I’m going to have a layover, I better be able to get off the plane, damnit!
Originally posted by Tim Green A side note: Did you read that Singapore Airlines has started LAX – SIN non-stop at +/- 19 Hours. The A340 has special seating with extended legroom but they charge a premium price for flying the non-stop.
This flight is actually listed as 16 hours on the eastbound and it has routinely been doing it in 14 hours 45 minutes. Not bad. They still operate the 2 one-stops for those that don’t wish to pay the ‘premium price.’
Originally posted by Tim Green A side question: Can anyone confirm that the A340 achieves it’s fuel economy by flying considerably slower than a 747 or 777? A friend commented recently that she hated getting behind an A340 on the trans-Pac as they had to fly higher or lower than the optimum altitude to overtake them.
Which model A340? The 777 is slower than a 744 also. Add an extra hour is you’re flying from western Europe to say, Singapore on a 777 rather than a 744.
Where do AF still operate their 747 classics to? Are LH’s still around, as well?
The original Qualiflyer Group was SwissAir, Sabena, AOM, Austrian, LOT, and wasn’t Air Liberte in there at once stage also? Austrian wised up and bolted a while ago to join Star. LOT left long ago, and eventually joined Star last year. The rest of those guys were owned by SwissAir anyway, and wound up going bankrupt. Pretty $hitty alliance from the getgo, if you ask me. Where were the non-Euro airlines to cover other regions?
Is KLM getting Pratts for their A330’s because that’s what the picture indicates. I would think they would opt for GE’s.

I have flown SFO – SYD on UA 747-400’s a number of times (stopping in Fiji once for fuel).
Any idea why you had to stop for fuel, seeing as they normally don’t do this? Were headwinds very strong that night?
Some of those shots from McCarran are amazing, with the backdrop. Looks like this one is taking off from rwy1, rarely used for take-offs, or landings for that matter. Very steep climb, indeed.
The Book I’m referring has been around about 10 years. If you look in some old Airliners iddues and look in the book section, you’ll see it in there. i don’t remember the title but I’ll see if I can find it.
Ok, I was aware of the Carling Cup. I thought they were 2 separate ones. Arsenal basically tanked that one by playing their 2nd unit in both games vs. Middlesborough.
