It’s about 40 miles east of downtown; straight shot on the 60 fwy. 🙂

Would US Airways remain in the Star Alliance?

I suppose it all depends on who the buyer is in this deal. TW and AA ‘merged’ a few years back, and TWA subsequently disappeared forever. My guess is that HP is doing a lot better financially than US. Therefore, HP seems the most likely to keep the name. Then again, perhaps they could come up with a brand new name integrating both airlines. At any rate, I see HP perhaps wishing to benefit by joining the Star Alliance as a result. With Star hubs at LAX and SFO already, how feasible would it be to augment these with two more hubs in LAS and PHX? By the way, LAS is now the 5th busiest airport in the U.S. in terms of pax behind ATL, ORD, LAX, and DFW. In terms of movements, they’re probably top 3.

I would have thought there was a huge amount of commercial aviation involved in any such final

Indeed. A year or so ago, Bhoy traveled to Barcelona to watch Celtic play the Catalans, and his trip was well documented and was posted in the commercial aviation forum.

This brings up an interesting point that I’ve pondered from time to time. What is the margin of error, in terms of numbers of passengers and weight. Obviously, each person is not weighed, unlike the belly cargo. However, some people weigh more than others. You could have a airplane that has a few rugby type players on there, or you could have a charter with a bunch of teenagers on some tour. How and when does that come in to play in terms of weight and balancing? Just curious.

I was estimating the distances. I didn’t think anyone would give a rats ass. LOL

I sure as hell wouldn’t know the difference. 😀 Anyone care where Chino is located in relation to Los Angeles? I didn’t think so. 😎

Welcome back Sandy. Well done on the templates. Other than Monarch, you covered the 3 most important airlines that flew the 707 ;). No doubt those are JT-3D’s on those ’07’s, eh Sandy. 😀
