It’s just a callsign. Who cares? Passengers don’t hear it, and why would pilots bother…
Uh, I do, when I listen to channel 9 on UA flights. About a year ago I found out America West was “Cactus.”
That’s too bad WD. 🙁 I’ve never heard of the airport, but I have heard of Kent St. University by virtue of their College Basketball team.
Im flying to FAO on 24th July
I’ll be flying through FRA on 24 July as well, Tom.
LH4671 departing AMS @ 0920 arriving FRA @ 1025
LH3382 departing FRA @ 1255 arriving ATH @ 1345
I’ve been on a LH A321 and can confirm they don’t have IFE.
I was about to offer confirmation on this, but Speedbird beat me to it. LH DO NOT have TV’s inside their short-haul fleet, this includes the A310’s and A300-600’s. To be honest with you, on a flight shorter than 3 hours, I really don’t care about in-flight entertainment. I keep myself entertained by reading or sleeping, preferably the latter, no matter what time of day it is.
I’ve been on A319/320/321’s of Mexicana, America West, and British Midland, that had no IFE either. I don’t recall if Austrian did, or not. United, USAirways, and Air Canada all have IFE in theirs. Not the PTV variety of Jetblue, but a drop down screen which is more than sufficient.
..are virgin getting any?
I doubt it. Virgin likes 4-holer haulers, hence the slogan “4 Engines 4 Long Haul.”
762 stopped production some time ago.
It did, however, it was subsequently re-opened for Continental about 5 or 6 years ago. All of CO’s 762’s are relatively new with the 777-like interior found in the 764’s.
Now onto my next target, Amsterdam! muahahahaha
Yeah, but you’re not going to be there when I’m there. 😡 As Sandy said, Allen, absolutely fabulous. That Air Greece, errr, Air Scotland looks fantastic now.
However UA sounds good to me 😀
That sounds good to me, too. If you have a layover in L.A. and the wifey lets you get away for a little bit, let me know and we can go get a beer, or something. 😎
If you get to CDG, LHR, or FRA, your options are endless. No Star Alliance carrier flies to BIQ, however. I just checked on the Star Alliance timetable.
But Roy Makaay plays in Munich, so wearing it in Frankfurt might be fatal. Go to Munich, and u’ll be welcomed( depends which part:D)
That’s what I figured. I just was wondering if the Germans are as crazy as the Greeks, when it comes to fans of the ‘other’ team.
I’ll probably get my ass kicked by a bunch of angry Germans, eh? Germany is tougher than that. They’re not losing seven-nill.
The fuel prices should be killing everyone, though, not just United. There really is no end in sight for the fuel crisis.
To be honest with you, I have no interest in touring the city. Our flight arrives FRA from LAX @ 10:25 a.m. on the 15th. I just want to take a nap then find some pub and watch Holland play Germany later on that day. I wonder if it will be safe to wear my Roy Makaay Holland jersey when we go to the pub? 😮
they are planning to expand in the middle east, there were talks that MEA will join in November, any news on that?
I have no idea, as I’m not that in-tune with what’s going on with Skyteam. MEA would be a great addition for Skyteam, and the Middle East region, at large. They would be the first airline from the Middle East to join any alliance.
I know, I will – I promise. I just don’t really want to talk about it and get on with what I’m doing now.
That’s good, we won’t talk about it anymore then.
Man, I missed this place!!
Yeah, well, you better behave yourself this time around. This forum has been fantastic the last month.
Are you intending to do business in the city, or just have a look around?
My travels are always for pleasure. My friend and I are headed to Portugal for the Euro cup. Our LH flight inbound from LAX gets into FRA on Jul 15. We coudn’t get on a flight to OPO that day so we got booked on the first flight out the following day. Less than 24 hours and you don’t get charged extra for the stopover. It was a good excuse to check out Frankfurt since I’ve never been.
