Great pics Allen! I went to UA’s website and they had a weather advisory for all flights in and out of ORD, so if the UA flight originated from there, that makes sense. Perhaps that advisory applies to other airports in that vicinity, as well.

Bizjet, this was a caption thread. By posting those pics, you are expecting us to put captions on them, which looks rather difficult from my end.

Aviation authorities regret allowing female pilots to park their aircraft themselves

We have a winner. 🙂 That is brilliant.

A cheatline goes a long way, in my opinion, even if the majority of the fuselage is white. Whomever said it looked 70’s was spot on, which is probably why I like it so much! 2 liveries from the 70’s that I was/am very fond of is the TWA red tail scheme, and the white UA scheme with the large red/blue/orange cheatline.

I’m sure it’s still there, just not lowered.

    Why not indeed ! 😀

Dude, you got room for camping on your back lot ? (lol) 😀 😉

I have a decent sized backyard. Are you guys going to bring some tents, or something? :p I was going to echo what Allen said about fares being cheaper in the non-summer months. Even going from here to say LHR, FRA, AMS, the more western Euro airports. Very cheap, provided you begin your travel before June 15, typically around $500-600 U.S. round trip. I don’t know what that is in pounds, but right around what you were making referrence to. You guys should check out United, also. Not that I’m being biased, but everytime I do an orbitz search going to the airports I was making reference to, they usually have some decent fares.

At what airport did they get caught at, anyway?

Btw afaik Munich is the first European airport ready to handle the 380.

I’m assuming this is due to the new Star Alliance terminal?

Ah… another good reason to organise a spotting trip to LAX. 🙂

I concurr. As long as it’s not when I’m out of town (which will be often this summer 😎 ).

Its a big expense and some airpport authorities can’t see the point.

I agree. However, the big boys, like LHR, DXB, SIN, NRT, SYD, LAX, JFK, CDG, KUL, AMS, FRA, etc. are just going to have to suck it up and do it. Does it not benefit these airports, money-wise, to be able to handle this monstrocity of an aircraft?

Evidently the SYD-LAX route is VERY busy

Indeed. However, 2 of those operate AKL-LAX-AKL and MEL-LAX-MEL. The other 3 are for SYD. QF have 3 daily SYD-LAX-SYD only on same days, the rest there are 2, one of which continues on to JFK, then back.

This is the Remote terminal at LAX:

    http://www.airliners.net/open.file/579190/L/

As you can see, there is ample room for a few A380’s plus other aircraft. Typically, they only park them here when all the gates at the main Bradley terminal are full. I don’t think Virgin is too crazy about having to park way out here and bus them to T2, hence the delay.

Welcome Joker. 🙂 It seems like you have a lot to contribute; hopefully in the arena of commercial aviation, as well.

Using the jetway up front and some stairs at the back with several of those big buses, they should be ok.
