Awesome pictures.
That EAL colours scheme was my favourite, the blue and black. Great pics andrew.
do you prefer BMW or Mercedes?
I prefer BMW, as I own 2. 😎
Ironically, I have no recolection of Braniff as a younster. I remember various images in my mind of planes I used to see at LAX in the 80’s. Lot’s of TWA, Pan Am, Air Cal, PSA, Western, Eastern, of course American and United, even Hughes Airwest’s banana birds, but no Braniff.
When will we see a 744 in this paint?
I was wondering the same thing! Interflug, you can’t even comepare the PIA livery with UA’s!
UA 777 in the new livery, very above average! Who didn’t like that new colour scheme? 😮
Man, that Olympic shot is old school. When was that picture taken?
Why bother?
Matthew, I didn’t mean “why bother” taking delivery of the aircraft, period. I meant, “why bother” using it on the LAX run when they already have the 744ER? I have no problem with QF taking delivery of the A345 to use for PER-LHR and SYD-DFW.
Even though this is discussed on another thread, I’ll make mention of it here. All these problems with 777 engines lately, and people want to fly a twin on sectors of 18-20 hours. No thanks.
Thats good for Qantas….. A345 will do them good. Probably also can be used on the LA sectors.
Well of course they could as they would have more than adequate range. But with the 744ER handling this route rather beautifully, why even bother with the A345?
$hit, I wouldn’t even bother in Greece, and I’m Greek! Heck, I’d probably get arrested just for being American! 😮
Are you referring to the Northeast of the U.K. or the U.S.?
Not to start another argument, but AA uses RR in their 777’s,
Indeed. 😉
By the way BigRedDog, too many immediate back to back posts for you. Try mixing in 2 different ‘paragraphs’ on one post to get 2 different points across as opposed to posting twice back to back. You’re killin’ me!!
Thai Airways and South African Airways operated codeshare flights for a while, then we saw SAA join the Star Alliance. Give it time and we could see Qatar Airways doig the same!
I was going to say the same thing. It would be the first Middle East carrier to join any alliance, and would strenthen Star even more.
Most airlines don’t let you get off on these flights, it wastes time and costs them money
This is true. I just found out that TG’s LAX-NRT-BKK flight is operated in this manner. One of my infamous acquaintances flew to India recently on TG and apparantly at NRT, they were not allowed off the aircraft, as it was just a fuel stop. All these years, I was under the impression that Thai was even allowed to sell revenue tickets on the LAX-NRT portion, but it turns out that pax can’t get off there if they wanted to! I wonder if SQ is under this same criteria with their SIN-TPE-LAX and SIN-NRT-LAX flights, as well?
