    This is good news, as UA does very well on their Asian routes with all business traverlers, and all. Hopefully Vietnam Airlines will be allowed to fly to U.S. now, to reciprocate UA’s service.

    It is a REAL shame ANA have closed down their Australian operations… 🙁

    I think the reason they did was because Ansett was using a 747 on the route, and that was probably sufficient capacity for ANA plus the other Star members for the SYD-NRT run. If it was doing well, I can’t understand why they would just discontinue service. Why ANA has not re-established service is a mystery to me. Ansett disappearead long ago and that left no Star carrier doing the SYD-NRT run. With Asiana, you could funnel them through ICN, but that still leaves you no non-stop options.

    Once AC get back on their feet, they better take care of business. They got into this mess in the first place largely due to the takeover of Canadian, if I’m not mistaken. With this behind them, they should start doing well. Given the fact that they are the only major airline in Canada, with only loco Westjet to provide decent competition, they really have no excuses.

    Is this just further proof of IB being unhappy with their A346’s, that they are leasing a pair of 744’s?

    Thanks Andrew, I appreciate it. The only problem is, that picture is huge and I don’t want to take up that much space on a thread every time I make a post. Can you shrink that thing up to 1/3 of its size, or something?

    You’ll need someone to host the image on a server, then copy and paste its url intoi your signature.

    I right clicked on the image then saved it to my favorites. I tried copying that URL into the “insert image” option for the signature, but it didn’t work. What a pain. Any ideas? How did Britannia get that image you re-did for him on there?

    He makes them, Shaun. I don’t like the bird on the SQ tail. Everything else is cool, especially the placement of the bird at the front of the cheatline, a la TG. How about one in the new UA livery, Sandy, so I could use it in my signature?
