I can’t see Canada buying them. We have a proud tradition of wearing our equipment out before looking into replacing it. The Halifax class will soldier on for a long while yet. We need to replace our Athabaskan class destroyers first. And from what I heard it will be an enlarged Halifax version.

Most contries are making stealthier boats. I wish we would follow the trend. But atleast our boats are built in house.

    Voodoo

Dont worry about building them in house thats still fine. What we have working together is combined experience and supply lines.

    SM2/SM6
    ESSM
    5″
    US Helicopters
    Aegis
    US Torpedoes
US Powertrains (less of an issue)

    …….

Aegis wont ever be intergrated into a frigate for australia – CEC link the frigates to the Aegis destroyers and your off. The Australian Navy is switching to NH90 – if an EH101 can fit so can an NH90.

ESSM , SM2/6 could be launched from a Mk41VLS, although I suspect that they would be interested in the low cost option of CAMM

Not unless Australia and the other countries decide to ditch our US weapons systems.

which systems are those? Its CEC those type 26 and link them in with the new destroyers coming in.

Use a mk 5 on the front or even BAE Mk 110 57 mm gun – same as the LCS

The next government needs to commit to this and start looking for customers for export now.
    We should be talking to
    Chile
New Zealand (2 isnt out of the question) lots of chinese subs out there.
    Australia – unlikely I know
    Saudi Arabia possibly?
Canada – would they be interested in a modern multi purpose frigate?

Would India consider asking for B2 spirit bomber? Now, now, I know it is uber expensive at $2billion a unit.

Never ever ever ever gonna happen.

1- out of production for a long time now
2- cost of starting it up again and building in the numbers india might want i.e less than 20 – the cost would be more the 2 bill a plane
3- The US would never sell this to any one.
    4- India doesnt need it.
    5- India wouldnt want it.
6- No one is going to nuke India.

None country except the USA has access to the software code. None is allowed to write its own software to feed in. Something the UK and Israel tried to overcome in vain. 😉

which is messed up with regards to the UK – but we’ve done this convo a million times

Dont see it that way Mister. The ship is taking its weapons system, including hardware, directly from T23 in the main. The 3D search/TI set is already chosen in the shape of ARTISAN. The air defence missile system is determined, already under development and should also be being transferred from the Dukes.

£127mn to integrate a lot of pre-existing systems with an existing hull is a lot!. When you see idiotic features like the father/son hangar it does make you wonder quite what is being paid for here?.

Ill give them my mock ups for £1mill they only need to do the internal stuff!

The pictures of a Ramp used to train pilots is evidence that something is planned/ in the works. Im sure they will get a navalised plane up there soon.

I really do think she will be inducted as a carrier/ training carrier.

What comes next is seeing her move out under her own steam. Which wont be for another 6-12 months is my bet

The Harpoons we “fitted for but not with” to the Darings….?

Well I didnt say it was likely 😛 ffbnw is the worst thing the penny counters ever came up with. The MOD should have its defence budget ring fence and the government shouldnt be able to touch it. TBH whenever a labour government gets in power the MOD decision should be kept with the conservatives.
