The C-X looks to be an excellent aircraft.

If I were South Africa wondering what to do without the A-400M I would be looking to Japan.

Infact if I were Japan I would be heavily marketing this aircraft around the world asap.

Its interesting that we have had no pictures what so ever, when did pictures come out with regards to the YF-23 and YF-22?

Swerve makes a good point. The C3 needs to be a seperate programme in order to rule out that sort of cost cutting exercise.

The C3 wont ever carry out shore fire. It needs the gun to deal with pirate skiffs, drug vessels and possibly cargo ships it wants to search but dont want to stop 😛

Does the BAM have a Hanger – its not clear on my image and i havent really read up on it. If it does great, if not im not a fan of ships operating helicopters without hangers.

I do know they want a crew of about 35 which seems about right. With the C3 I would imagine we would be looking at closer to 50 with the roles of Mine Countermeasures/Hydrographic included (modular I imagine).

I always liked this design for Argentina in terms of size, would be perfect for COIN Carrier.

I agree, I really dont want a frigate sized vessel for the C3 but I do want a vessel that can be a true OPV! We need these ships to be a jack of all trades if at all possible.

and I think one of my designs is along the lines of what I want and you want. Althoug people dont agree with the 57mm I think its exactly whats needed.

Now with regards to the BAM, I think its too small to be honest and given our areas of interest we need our C3’s to have some endurance. I seem to remember a study saying that a min of 100 meters was needed.

    Comparison of size.

I think most of us describe the C3 as an OPV. Which it should be, we all recognise that we need hi low mix rather than what we have now and the C3 needs to provide this even if it mixes this with “Mine Countermeasures/Hydrographic”

that picture has been around for about a year now. I think even on this board.

I’m hoping now that the Type 45 work is in the final stretch so to speak we will start seeing more about the FSC.

i still believe that INS Viraat should be quickly converted to STOBAR config. Im sure there’s enough room to get the Mig 29 down and up on.

The maximum take off length for the Mig-29K on the Vikramaditya will be between 160-180 metres.
