    thank god for penalty clauses.

The only way it seems to keep a british government doing what they said they would do!.

Im all for the A400M cancellation. Buy more C-130’s and C-17s

Leave the euro fighter and carriers alone.

I know though knowing our policitians they will scrap the JSF deal and say we can make do with Harriers. Or only buy 30.

As for the ANZAC replacement, I do like the idea of an Aegis-less version of the Hobart class, rather than a whole new design. Ideally, though, these should still be pretty darned capable ships, with the CEAFAR radar, a good size VLS. By using pretty much the same design as the Hobart, crews can move around within the fleet with few problems. It makes support a lot easier, and overall would help with streamlining of the fleet.

I think your right on with this and think it would be the best move for the RAN

I’m sure that eventually other countries will be able to produce steam catapults, they just havent put any time into it yet.

Hell a korean firm could just buy the british firm and have the designs that way.

I think we should expect other countries to be using catapults in the not too distant future, especially those nations that dont have access to the fantastic F-35B. This really does highlight why the RN CVF should be built with EMALS from the start

I for one will be happy to see more and more carrriers in the world, they are fantastic machines.

Ok a little change to a drawing done that I posted before.

Generic carrier built by Korean yards for potential customers round the world. I’m hoping that they would be able to reproduce the steam catapults.

No interest in the Indian new carrier (designed with a lot of Italian help and many western systems)?

I like the what I have seen of them but I would like to see some more details images. Any one know where I can find one?

Tell you something though, if they do find oil. I want another 4 Eurofighters down that way.

Also wouldnt mind sending a Type 23 and a Type 42 on a routine visit.

CVF will be expensive as hell. I seriously believe ti woul dbe possible to put together a 40k carrier capable of operating 20-25 jets with AEW as well for soemthing in the region of $900mill -1bill

Nations that currently run aircraft carriers

    UK
    Russia
    India
    Brazil
    France
    Italy
    Spain
    USA
    Thailand

Nations that will/could Operate carriers in the near future

Australia (F-35b if they wanted too)
    China

Nations that I believe could Operate a 40k tone carrier in the future Im talking the next 15 years or soo. This would be based on a commercially built carrier operating something like the Rafeal or something Russia/China could preduce…

    Turkey
    Mexico
    Canada
    Australia (maybe one day common!)

I’ve always been interested in the design that came out of Argentina, I wonder if this could be a model for a generic aircraft carrier that could be sold around the world as the Air Craft carrier becomes as must have for emerging nations?
