It’s been reported by RIA Novosti that “aviation expert” & former general in the Armee de l’Air Jean du Verdier* has spoken out about the downing of MH17, claiming it must have been shot down from Ukrainian controlled territory.
Well after reading what this General actually said, I’m a bit confused.
I failed to see where he says that the missile was shot from the Ukrainian controled zone.
General Jean du Verdier, who has previously worked for the French Permanent Aviation Safety Council, said in an interview Monday that if the plane fell near the village of Torez, about 25 miles from the Russian border, according to his calculations, “the shot was fired from deep in the Ukrainian territory.”
Does “Deep in ukrainian territory” means from “ukrainian controled territory” ?
Then in the next sentence he says exactly the opposite of the rianovosti article title !
This is the article title : “French Expert Says Missile That Allegedly Hit MH17 ‘Launched From West (sic)”
And below what the general says :
The area [where the plane exploded] cannot be near Torez. It is much further to the west! Although this cannot serve as evidence that the missile that hit the plane, if this is the case, was launched from the west,
WTF ?
Anyway, this poorly written article is at least clear on one point : The former general dismisses the A2A shot hypothesis.
