2 * 2000L tanks, Atlis pod (or PDLCT-S pod, depends on the picture), 1* training magic II, 4*training mini-bombs
+1
and the gripen A flies for quite a long time now. Failures happen to all jets.
But I’m a bit surprised the Rafale didn’t trap on the Enterprise… I wonder why ?
The rafale F1 INS system can’t be calibrated on foreign carriers. It needs a special IR data transmision from the CdG.
Rafale F2 will be able to land and take off from US carriers thanks to a new system that can be calibrated on the move with GPS.
FAB uses probe and drogue system to refuel its jets.
good point.
That’s a big disavantage for the F-16.
The su-27 can’t refuel inflight neigther. it’s not a big deal for this enormous plane though.
I think, it will depend on the upgrade package that comes with the mirage.
movie
however the french title is borrowed to a 60ies TV show.
it will worth seeing just for the aerial footage alone!
Their goal was to make the bests aerial sequences possible. there are 30 min of air footage and some of them take place in Djibouti…you know, the place, where the french pilots make their crazy “camel altitude” flights 😀
russian AF su-27 ?
some good “armee de l’air” propaganda :diablo:

A promotion video ?
Well, as much as topgun was a promotion for the US navy 😀
These images are 100% real. Dassault has built a special fuel tank with cameras to shoot those scenes.
The mirage are from the Orange air base in the south of France and the A340 belongs to airbus industry.
only the scenes in the cockpits, where you can see the actors/pilots or the dashboard, are made in studio thanks to a cockpit that can rotate 360°
mirage 2000 vs mirage 2000?
it is supposed to be a mirage 2000-10 prototype that has just been stolen at the farnborough air show and that uses an airliner to hide itself.
The 2 other mirage are scrambled to find and intercept the thief :p
The background story is more or less about international and sometimes “dirty” weapon business.
But I agree it could turn out to be a bad topgunish-froggy-style-B-grade movie 😀
However, all the flight scenes are real and not CGI…that’s a good point imho.

Wait for the short commercial to end and then, the story is at the 18th minute
According to the french magazine Air & Cosmos, Brazil would have decided to accept the french proposal for 16 (14 single seater + 2 two seater) mirage 2000C/B rdi with some upgrades (they don’t specify what are those upgrades though)
The contract would be expected to be signed the 14th of july during the Visit of the president Luiz da Silva in Paris.
And it is only the very beginning of its career.
you bet ! it’s not a bad begining for a helo not even in service yet .
