I am somewhat of that opinion that deals done that are not cemented before they enter the public domain are always going to be problematical!
Quite so! I suspect appearances on news at 10 announcing that it will be displayed at the RAF museum and naming the pilot before the aircraft has even been positively identified and the family informed didn’t help!
That’s more of a corporate affair with a few fallings out along the way. This is very personal and has now lost its gloss.
Whilst I understand your distaste at what is clearly a less than edifying exchange, it is not personal for me at least, although the accusations have now become frankly ridiculous. I have no axe to grind on a personal level, I am and I remain willing to pursue this with a view to resolving the obvious unanswered questions regarding this whole affair. I will leave everyone to draw their own conclusions. I will say that I did not have to post here and did so because I believed and still do that there was something untoward regarding the listings. This has been done in an attempt to ensure that someone else does not have the same experience or worse than I did. So whilst I accept that it is unedifying and distasteful sometimes you have to roll your sleves up and do what is right. With all due respect no one has to read this if they choose not to. In the end everyone can pay their money and take their choice or vote with their feet.

Please read my post #73. I did not make it for the good of my health.

Sorry am i missing something here? All this establishes is that the account was accessed from a different location? That does not substantiate the claim that his PC, email etc have been hacked?
It is so wonderful to read what you prime examples of humanity think.
You have as far as I can tell, condemnd me without any proof whatso ever.
I have not condemned you, I think you are making a pretty good fist of that without my help! I have merely shared my experience with members of the forum and advised them to be careful.
In a thread on the Aerodrome “I found it eventually :apologetic:”, pat1968 “fishface”, say’s that he was willing to buy the instruments wether they were originals or repro’s, SO WHY THE HECK did he want to see them first, first of all he says that he wanted to make sure that they are originals, then he say’s that he would have bought them even if they were repro’s. His story has more holes in it than the Titanic.
You can either choose to believe him or to believe me, to be honest with yoiu, I am almost beyond caring what you think of me.
My sincere apologies for your difficulty in finding my thread on the aerodrome forum, whilst latin is a dead language I thought most forumites would have a sufficient grasp to know what it meant. As for repros yes i have no objection to them per se (sorry more latin) there are some very good repros but I would like to know what i am buying. Retrotech make excellent repros and i suspect others also.
As for my health, ask my doctor, he will confirm what I have said.

I am a little confused by the comment regarding your health? If all of the messages i received were not from you but apparently concocted by the ‘hacker’ why would anyone need to verify the contents of those messages with your actual doctor? Further why would you confirm the content of those messages if you had not written them? I think if you are going to make up stories you need to be very careful not to catch yourself out!:stupid:
Why don’t the pair of you meet up in a pub ,have a drink and purchase the goods if agreed there and then.
As i have said, I would be more than happy to meet name the time and the place!
If you are trying to make out that I am lying about having my computer hacked, then I suppose that you can you explain why I have not been able to access my ebay account, or why I have not been able to get access to my yahoo email account for about a month, can you also explain how some of the contacts on my email account, received emails from some one that they have never had any dealings with, saying that I had given their details to him, regarding RR Kestrel spares, or how other people have recieved emails from me that I never sent, or can you explain why it all happened after I opened an email from the person who started this thread. Can you also explain why I could not log on to my Flypast site, using my computer. If my computer wasn’t hacked, then a lot of strange coincidences have occured, & I for one do not believe in that many coincidences.
Bob T.
Do you have any actual evidence to back this statement up? or is it just another implausible story? You have not established that you have actually had any computer, account etc issues you have just told everyone that you have. All very convenient, if you have been having these issues for what must be months why have you not sorted it out? no one can explain why any of the above would happen because it is implausible, extremely convenient in the circumstances and complete unsubstantiated.
Can you confirm whether you have/had two asi’s for sale on eBay or is this all part of the elaborate conspiracy to discredit you? It is a simple question that you have not answered either here or on the aerodrome forum.
IF pat1968 received replies to his messages, can he please put both his messages & the supposed replies on this thread ????.
Bob T.
yes i have the messages and i am happy to post them. Mods? If not allowed i can forward them to a mod who can view them absolutely no issue at all.
This post has now appeared on the aerodrome forum:
my understanding of this post (other than referring to everyone here as a pack of rabid dogs) would appear to be suggesting that I have deliberately hijacked his email, and eBay account and made the whole thing up. I assume he means that I listed the instruments myself using his eBay account?
Knowing next to nothing about any of the matters under discussion, I for one would be obliged if the forum censors would leave well alone. There have been no vulgarities or obscenities that I’m aware of. Reading the contributions does wonders for my education.
Well apart from accusing me of hacking his computer, email account, ebay account and apparently his access to this forum, which would be a crime. However as these accusations are frankly farcical I see no reason to sensor anything.
Does that mean one of us will have to become a politician?
Unfortunately it’s against the law now!:p we’re not even allowed handbags at dawn!

As i have said I am and remain more than happy to resolve the situation by any means. Sadly it seems it is unlikely i will be afforded the opportunity, although i remain open to any resolutions. I am relieved to hear that Sopwith.f71 has recovered sufficiently from his illness to make it to the library! Perhaps we could have met there in the first instance and resolved this without any issues! I would however like to correct some of the inconsistencies in his post above.
Firstly the items were re-listed on or around the 19th September and i have an email from you dated 23rd September 2013 so i am not sure how your computer could have been down for over a month as you were incapacitated and could not leave the house? You were also able to change your avatar on eBay from Sopwith.7f1 to bobs_trinkets on the 23rd September (i.e. 8 days ago) and the second listing was then completed on the 26th September i.e. only a few days ago. I am struggling to understand how you could have done all of this without access to either your computer, email account or your eBay account for over a month?
With regards to the aerodrome forum i posted the exact same posting there on the 24th September i.e. the morning after i posted on this forum, here is the link;
http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/aircraft/59701-caveat-emptor-ebay.html
I would also like to point out that i have made no accusations whatsoever, I have merely stated that i was not happy in the circumstances to proceed with the purchase without satisfying myself of what i was buying. That was based on negative feedback posted against your account. I am still at a loss to understand how you can apparently visit your local library but were unable to meet me in person? surely you could have met me at the library?
As for the accusations of ‘hacking’ your computer and accounts I am afraid you credit me with far more IT ability than sadly i actually posses! Whilst i am certainly no technophobe that is certainly beyond my abilities. Once again i would be more than happy to resolve this via any means, either a mediator (any takers?) or any other means? I don’t think making unsubstantiated accusations is really going to do your case any real favours. As i have said previously I would far happier to substantiate the items at which point I will be more than happy to make a public retraction. I don’t think i can say fairer that that!
Over to you Bob T
Ref my post #7. Pat, my most sincere apologies. I picked the wrong Bob to go with the avatar and have been put right as to the identity of Sopwith. Thanks K for informing me.
Hi Stan,
No apology required you are entitled to your opinion just like everyone else!:) I certainly do not mean to cause any offence quite the opposite! I have to say i am a bit confused as to who this might be judging by the wants list it is surely the forumite with the same username as the eBay seller, before he changed it? I am aware that there are several ‘Sopwiths’ on the forum so i assume one or more of them are Bobs?
Anyway the items have been re-listed despite my bids still not being cancelled? I hope they are genuine and the current bidder has no issues.
