yuri geller (spoon bending bloke) is taking one seller to court in exactly the same circumstances.
he won one of elvis presleys old houses, but the seller then decided to sell it someone else.

And Yuri didn’t see that coming?????

And was he ‘all shook up’

The only indicator of how well the item might do is the number of watchers, and it doesnt always follow. I have had more than ten watchers on an item, and it still went for my opening price!

That’s becuase I watch similar items to see what they go for!!!!

As a seller on ebay.. I put my initial selling starting bid price at the MINIMUM I would be prepared to accept for the item. Hoping that I would get more, but realising I could have to let it go cheaper than what I would have really liked… A risk I am prepared to accept.

As a buyer I am prepared to jump in at the last minute with a bid and an automatic bid up to value that I really want to pay for the article – And hoping my pockets are deeper than everyone elses… A risk I am prepared to accept.

In this case the seller should have been prepared to have sold the item for what the starting bid value should have been,… the fact it was by sniper or something else is irrelvent. If that was a ‘real auction’ and someone bid the starting price and no one else bid anymore and it was greater than the reserve (no one has said if there was a reserve on the item) .. Then the item would have been sold for the starting price.

Just seen the article:, He paid the Reserve Price on ebay, which was the starting price.. So this would be no different from a real auction

It was the 02/04/1992 a 42nd ECS EF-111A 66-0056 crashes at the Dalgety food plant, Barton Hartshorn, near Finmere, Bucks, UK shortly after take off from RAF Upper Heyford, the 2 crew ejected safely

I must admit something about P8187 in that all the records I have say

“58 OTU crashed/dived into sea near Menteith, Aberfoyle, Perths 3.6.43”

However, you have shown us the accident card which clearly says Lake of Menteith, which any map of Scotland will show you is quiet a distance from the sea, and is quite a large body of water

Now, even if you take Aberfoyle as the location, that is still a distance from the sea

So you have shown us a possible fresh water Spitfire, that no one has seemed to have spotted before.. Well sleuthed….

Interesting quote, I wonder if anybody has ever done any statistical evaluation of the percentage where aircraft crash doing aerobatics in relation to the location where their parents/girlfriends/wife/home location.. compared to crashes outside this area.

I have come across numerous references to this, I wish I had kept a record of them all…

There are a few Townley’ and Underhills on the CWGC (no hypenhated ones thouh)
