Has there been any other confirmation that the serial is L2896

As someone points out, this does not tie in with the FAA serial book as this one appeared to survive until 1943

Where as BOTH L2986 and L2899 would make possibly better candidates, unless the history of L2986 has become swapped with L2896 – Not the first time this has happended. But again I note BOTH have a “history” after April 1940

Seats can be moved between aircraft etc.. Has the serial been found on the fuselage or any part that cannot be accessed easily…

Bf 109F-1 ?? France CR ?? Ailes Anciennes Marseille – Escadrille Pegase Reported to be a cockpit section only. The organisation is to have been dissolved and the wreck moved to unknown place more NEWS? Reported in AM March 2002 to be under restoration to airworthiness by Paul Coggan.
