See what you mean, Flood, it just depends on how wide the net of a dedicated Photo Forum should be spread, then.
I still, despite your comments, believe that the answers to frequently asked questions such as basic camera techniques should be in the FAQs, you can’t spoon-feed Forum members so much as to believe they will never find the way to the FAQs, surely?
I would hope however that the presence of such a Photo Forum would not prohibit occasional photos relevant to a particular thread appearing in the various other Forums . . .
I don’t see it as unfortunate that airlines are in business to make money – how would new aircraft be developed and built if we all travelled free? Not to mention all the other expenses incurred by the commercial aviation infrastructure.
The thing that worries me is if the bean counters compromise safety for profit.
Surely, Flood, that info should be in the FAQs, which is where I always look first if I have a question! Otherwise there could be a “permanent” Hints and Tips section, available for posting by the general public, but heavily and strictly moderated to keep it as small as possible and not littered with posts that stray off the subject (e.g. rude comments and flames, that abound elsewhere!).
I prefer the mix of text and pictures myself, but I suppose I am one of the lucky few(?) with broadband. I personally therefore would vote against the inclusion of a photo sub forum.
Could one of you graphics experts out there spend a few hours adding engines and a livery or two on the first photo? I know there are artists’ impressions about, but here is the real thing now!
Good luck, Kev, you will be missed.
Hear Hear! Good manners cost nothing.
Nice detailing – what’s the scale?
From the JP at 50 thread:
“. . . the pilot was fine, until he climbed out the cockpit and hurt his back.”
I wonder if Ruprecht has a Swedish uncle who was a test pilot for Saab around 1972?
Bigglesworth, what about the dog? Cruelty to animals and all that . . .
Melvyn, the auditorium is emptying rapidly!
Well done, Flood, I personally would not have even attempted that particular “repair” in Photoshop! My speciality is removing unwanted people from backgrounds!
No idea!
Quick thinking on your part, lauriebe, I am sure I would have forgotten to take any pix among the general excitement! I now wonder if it was SE-XBJ or SE-DCX – can you see on the original photo?
I have read many times in this Forum that the shutter speed should be around 1/120th second to get the props right, but my question is how to do it on my camera! Perhaps some digital cameras just won’t let you set the shutter speed to a specific value? Any experts around?
