Vanguard and VC-10 at Brooklands? (Never been there myself, more’s the pity)
Not on a PC with Windows 2000 it doesn’t!
Standard method to reboot your computer – try it! Or in my case with Win2000 it brings up the Task manager.
Since it was the latest (June) issue, can’t you just go to the local newsagent and buy a copy? Of course here in Sweden it’s impossible and I have to subscribe any worthwhile magazine or newspaper, but surely there are still newsagents in the UK that stock AM? No problem with copyright then, either!
Oh, no! I left the RAF in 1976 after being a radar technician for 17 years and am now a freelance technical author. Based here in Sweden with the occasional visit to Oshkosh and Old Warden, plus museums in the UK, USA and Sweden when possible. Such a dull aviation life!
First and last initials phonetically, like Whiskey Delta. Nothing very inventive because I was in a hurry to get on the Forum – the first time I tried was about one day before it totally crashed, so that was a very short-lived Forum “life”! BTW my photo is from 1959 one week or so after I joined the RAF, but I think I have aged too much since then!
Adding background on a widened canvas is the easy bit, the problem is getting the right contours for the nose and tailplane – not something I would like to try to do!
Argosy at Cosford
Memories of radar calibration in the early 1970s, when I was the only passenger!
Hi, I just put up the earliest Curtiss Helldiver I could find, but this was a one-off so it was certainly not the type used in the original “King Kong” Sorry if I misled you!
Last NZ Sunderland
From page 366 of “Shorts Aircraft sice 1900” is this photo of NZ4116, said to have been withdrawn from service at Hobsonville in March 1967.

It’s a shame you missed our Linköping trip, Ja, I thought I had “advertised” it well enough. I could consider arranging another one soon – the general idea is that you fly to Gothenburg, I rent a car and we drive up to the RSwAF Museum for the day – see previous threads! We even had an English-speaking guide and were allowed to use a stepladder, plus lighting “to order”. You and others who may be interested could PM me.
Thank you, Doug H, I stand corrected and have noted that useful information.
I gladly admit to being a boring bookworm – with only Ryanair 4 flights a day visible in the far distance from my balcony, what else can I do to get my aviation fixes?! Apart of course from devouring the Forum!
Hope you don’t mind, PhantomII, but I’ve taken the liberty of brightening up your picture a bit so we can see it better!
