The B-29 would bring back childhood memories for me from RAF Waddington in the 1950s. Have you any pictures of Lincolns? Thanks for the memories!

Looks like it’s time for the next anxiously awaited picture, Ray Jade (if there are any more to post), no takers for the Tiger Moth, obviously.

Sorry for that mis-reading, DazDaMan, would you accept as compensation this scan of a 73 Squadron Hurricane I being hand-cranked at Rouvres, France?

Although he was a Kiwi, I don’t believe that “Cobber” Kain took part in the Battle of Britain, being killed just before or as the Battle began.

The Civil List is taxpayer’s money used to fund the Queen’s duties as head of state. It pays for the costs of staff and running the Official Household.

    . . . and that’s official! (via Google)

Albert, seeing your photo struck a chord for me: in my case it was Filton, and the date on the back of the print is 9 July 1960, so they were doing this routine regularly, it seems!
Sorry about the “quality” but I think I had a little cheap Kodak, and they were rather high . . .

Would this have something to do with the formation of the first Escadrille Lafayette in May 1916? This consisted of American volunteer pilots and regular French military pilots.
