Hi All,
Timelapse (15) – A good simple basic old fashioned Sci-Fi film without any spell binding special effects, just a good story with a twist at the end I enjoyed it anyway and that’s what is important well worth a watch IMHO. :eagerness:

Hi All,
I would say the main object of the Greenpeace exercise has been achieved they have brought attention for all to talk about the ever growing abuse of living in a fragile home but I would ask:- Aren’t the environmentalists on a losing battle ? Even if they won with a complete victory as far as the human race is concerned and we had a better way of disposing of our waste just as an example, the world would still suffer the natural effects that will ultimately change our environment completely around us and we cannot do anything about that, yes the human race has been very naughty but while we have added to the problems of the earths natural environment forever changing we are not completely to blame as the cause for this mess we are in we are just not very good at keeping our home clean that’s all ! 🙂

Hi All,
Jim and Paul,
Many thanks for the input especially the DWP form book that was a godsend will be right on that cheers. :eagerness:
As for this thread not today but yesterday referring to the dimwits employed or the stupid regulations these employees are governed by, Basically refused my PIS benefit followed their directions on the letter exactly:- contact immediately if you want a reconsideration to discuss!, having done this previously I received a phone call asking why I wanted a reconsideration, explained was told she would ring again the following day with her decision, recieved the call only to be told she had made the decision but could not tell over the phone and I would receive a letter with the decision ?????
It’s no wonder people are so confused about claiming benefits it seems to me that the whole process let alone the DWP form is designed for people to fail and those that do get through the first round still have to prostate themselves in front of all an sundry just to obtain what they are entitled to, on a side note to this the letter they forward to you refuse say’s you said this, you said that on the form, the woman told my wife they do not base a decision on the form and those who claim really need to provide proof of what the applicant puts on form, when asked why it does not say that you MUST provide proof to each question she just replied that’s nothing to do with the DWP ???
It was the same answer to a similar question about the assessor:- they are nothing to do with the DWP ??? seems that they try and confuse the claimants at every turn, it just makes me so mad because I wonder how others get benefits such as those who have just turned up and held their hand out, those who cannot be arsed to work, those who have not put in to a system that was basically a safety net for those who fell on hard times through no fault of their own yet if I was an alcoholic,Druggy etc.etc. here you are no questions asked the rest who have worked for x amount of years you have jump when we say! 😡
Geoff.
Hi All,
Excellent news for us enthusiasts lets hope it’s the first of many, many more to come beyond their current inventory and let others learn how it’s done with
rare warbirds, all that aside it is an obvious show piece for their skills for potential rare warbird restoration and engineering skills 10/10.:eagerness:

Hi All.hawker1966,
I came to the same conclusion as OneEightBit (LAC Thomas Newstead), I would add you may try 197 Squadron service records or a general search for
RAF service personnel records ? Follow the links they may help better.

Hi All,
On page 14 of the SUN today is an article of yet another ex-serviceman a Falklands War veteran given short shrift by the DWP who despite being 62 Yr’s old Gordon Lang, An amputee and has Terminal Cancer with approximately 3 months to live received a letter in which the DWP urged him to find work.
He has been told that he must find suitable work as the DWP want to stop his £600 per month benefit. When he contacted the Shaw Trust who administer the DWP work programme this quote was in his reply:- ”When you feel fit and healthy and ready or work, we look forward to working with you to find a suitable job”
It’s a pity those who are doing the vetting of those who are on benefit do not look so close at those who are sitting on their collective arses and have never bothered to work, At the immigrants who flaunt their new found wealth to build there owned property’s in their country of birth etc.etc. before treating not just ex-servicemen and women like this but also those who have a genuine reason for not being able to work bloody disgusting IMHO. 😡
Geoff.
Surely you mean should NOT be vilified?
Hi All,
Sorry a case of mind saying one thing and typing nothing like the point I was trying to make my apologies to you and everyone else.
Geoff.

Moggy,
I was under the assumption that the Allison inline where nowhere near as powerful as the RR/Packard’s that’s all and now I have my answer.
Geoff.
Hi All,
garryrussel,
I think what you said is spot on there matey, just to get off track slightly has there been any further instances of near misses such as the Norwegian incident ? And would you agree that Russia have told it’s forces in particular there Air Force to be more aggressive with such encounters no matter where they be ?
Geoff.
Hi All,
Grudge Match – Sylvester Stallone/Alan Arkin/Kim Basinger/Kevin Hart and Robert De Niro. Quite a funny and enjoyable film for the most part with a couple of funny’s at the end credits. :eagerness:
Geoff.
Hi All,
I realise it’s a NATO response to any escalation of the trouble in the Ukraine but you can guarantee that the U.S. president has the lead and being the largest contributor of forces that are in NATO will want to be the I will take point, having said that there is a train of thought that many top U.S officers do not want to get involved in a European war again ? but at the end of the day they are a key player in NATO so I assume their hands are tied in that respect, none the less I still suspect my theory of coarse I am probably completely wrong ?
Only those in the know have a clue the rest is just speculation like mine, the reason why they keep battling at the Donetsk airport if the Ukraine lose control it would open an air bridge for Russia if the war escalates further. That also makes a land route to the Crimea through Mariopol a more likely possibility in my opinion.
Geoff.
Hi All,
Bluebirdbill,
Thought about contacting the Royals considering their connections with the RN Mountbatten/Charles/Andrew/Phil and Liz ? may be worth sending an e-mail to the relevant channels to provoke a reaction ? but whatever happens between now and final outcome your team should not be vilified for your excellent work so far and those further up the chain of command made aware of all this mishandling of the situation that has created such a headache for you .
Geoff.
