Hi All,
Going off thread a tad did the RAF ever consider a re-engine with the P-38 say with Merlin’s ?

Hi All,
Here’s a stupid question but I think is warranted just the same, this project has effectively been scuppered by insurance so:- When the FAAM decide to come an collect this piece of history who will insure the Collection/Removal and Transport to the aircrafts final destination ?
Surely they will have to pay another block of insurance to cover all this so would it not simply be more prudent to pay the needed insurance that is holding the restoration up rather than pay the extra costs of employing the following:- Staff to evacuate said airframe (As I assume because the Bluebird’s staff will not be insured to touch her again ?)/Drivers/Vehicle Hire/Fuel for said Vehicles/Meals for Staff over at least two days unless you employ two drivers for each vehicle to cover the limited driving and working hours of the drivers which I would assume would be near enough the cost of the insurance pay out if tragedy struck the airframe and parts during it’s removal ?

Hi All,
That light in Russia was an explosion you can clearly see the detonation plume in the L/H side of the video that I watched, as for the sound very much like gun fire or fireworks the descriptions in articles all say a BOOM! so the audio recording does not match at all.
As for Aurora well we will only know when it becomes unclassified and they have another hypersonic craft in the skies is when we may get an inkling of it’s existence officially what we need is another grainy photo. I have always had a bit of a wayward theory for the reason why Concorde was stopped, that is because of another classified faster aircraft blatting around and those in the know either never fancied a collision or the chance of it being seen ? cant say either way but that’s just my mad theory and I’ll be going back to the institute when the coppers come. :stupid:

Hi All,
Just seems those who own the company are doing like what many have done with England’s industries selling off for profit, at the end of the day just making money out of the deal with scant regard for those they employ or what the company stands for, yes to a certain degree business does not have room for sentiment but their is a human cost to all this and somebody somewhere will be raking the cream off the top. This Genesis album title comes to mind when it comes to all these sales ‘Selling England By The Pound’ we are a used to be country.

Hi All,
Mr Putin is just flexing his muscles like any bully! He knows the west will not want to start anything, I am convinced he and Mr Obama have come to an unofficial agreement about Syria and the Ukraine i.e. If the U.S. doesn’t interfere in Ukraine then Russia will not interfere in the Syria and the Is campaign of coarse I am probably completely off the target but very strange that both sides only make verbal comments veiled threats about both ?
Geoff.
Hi All,
How an ex-service man has been turfed out on the streets and being refused a flat by his local council because he is not Alcohol or drugs dependant, seems to me that I am agreeing with my wife this country tends to reward those who are complete failures and act in a general anti social behaviour instead of helping those who obviously are the true needy.
Geoff.
Hi All,
I for one am looking forward to when I eventually see it, films for me are quite simple to review you either like or you don’t being over critical just doesn’t make sense as when it comes down to the bones reviews are just what one critic personally likes or dislikes about any film.
Yes historical accuracy is important as is accuracy of props, costume, continuity etc.etc. but on the whole you will either like or dislike, my bug-bear are people who pan films before even released as for example the new Star Wars trailer and complaining about the new Light-Saber hilt pathetic really! but that’s just my personal opinion which is I would say very different from others, I just watch a film in a genre I like and don’t bother with being to critical, I want to enjoy not watch for failure unless it’s very blatant mistakes that should have been addressed at the making.
Geoff.
Hi All,
The Worlds End – Simon Pegg,Nick Frost and Martin Freeman. Not a bad film on the whole quite enjoyed it.:eagerness:

Hi All,
Halifax. Caption reads:- The last of the 710 Halifax’s built by the London Aircraft Production Group giving a low-level flying display after having been named “London Pride” on 16 April 1945.
Stratofreighter,
Is it me or did the Gatling gun have trouble tracking the Tornados ? Great video all the same.
Geoff.
Hi All,
Just another defence spending black hole for all the millions to be chucked into what a complete waste of everybody’s time, I mean if they still haven’t sorted that great white elephant of a JSF what hope would they have for a venture such as he is suggesting ? throw it in the bin were it belongs.
