TSR-2 was an extremely overhyped aircraft, infact quite possibly the most over hyped aircraft of all time. So many show stopping issues coupled with performance that was good in some areas and not good enough in others. Thankfully it was binned.

Not so as already mentioned the F-35 has the claim to this title without any shadow of a doubt! and if you use that analogy above the F-35 should have binned a few years ago already.
As far as the TSR.2 is concerned I think it suffered that most debilitating of all diseases that some aircraft seem to catch MISSION CREEP, that either penny pinching governments or armed forces leaders seem to want an ever increasing amount of work done by whatever weapon system so they can then dispense with a second system and hope in this case the aircraft can accomplish more than it was designed for, while at the same time adding no extra funds to alter the design parameters so as to allow the aircraft a better chance of actually coping with the extra work load.

I am sorry I seem to have got the wrong end of the stick in this thread I mean who would actually have a favourite ? I have what I consider to be a good sense of humour and just like opinions every body should have one except not all can see the funny side of yours.
At the risk of upsetting some religious folk (NO OFFENCE MEANT BY THE FOLLOWING!) on the forum. I nominate GOD! with my tongue firmly planted in my cheek, he has obviously since time immortal has allowed us to Murder/Kill/Maim/Torture/Rape etc.etc. To all humans no matter what age/To animals/To the planet as a whole, although you could argue in his defence that he gave us free will and it is us that are in charge of our own actions ? But at the same time would you sit and let a Woman/Child/Animal be raped/Beaten/Killed etc etc in front of you all in the name of fun or whatever reason those who commit these acts give for their depraved actions ?
I am sure if you wouldn’t let this happen then it begs the question why does GOD let it ? :confused:

Just another thought if you would please, the Shackleton’s I am right in saying they were basically modified Lancaster’s am I ? How hard would it be to back engineer from Shak to Lanc or would it be impossible ? :confused:
