As the wellington could be returned to the training scheme and that R-Robert is naked so to speak am I right in thinking that Brooklands have another Wellington fuselage behind it or somewhere in the hanger ? Why couldn’t they reskin R-Robert and use the spare fuselage as a WIP for the display of how the aircraft was manufactured along with more missing parts like mentioned earlier that are to be found around Britain.
Also correct me if I am wrong please ? but I seem to remember an article about a Wellington that came down in a marsh in the London area that periodically resurfaces and was in quite good shape ,the only problem being it’s retrieval. Being as they just lifted the Do17 couldn’t they do the same again with this Wellington or would it be a point of they already have one so they don’t need another one ?
