A225HVY, do you fly with the pilots center?

Dave, I was based at Truro in 2003 – 2004 and then late 2004 in to 2005 (both flying schools failed) Runway there is grass with a nice slope.
Spent most of my time based at Perranporth from 2004 to 2007, nice hard runways etc. Flew in to Lands End a few times, a bit bumpy regarding to taxiways, it’s all grass there but nice all the same. Flew in to Bodmin which is a nice challenge too. Also flown in to Plymouth city airport (closed now)
I’d recommend Perranporth simply because the approach to runway 05/23 is beautiful, as is the approach to runway 09.

Under privatisation when the search and rescue helicopter comes out to pick you up are you charged for the call out and then charged per a minute until they find you? :rolleyes:

You’ll get used to it. Turbulence has never made me feel ill, so I’m sure you will just get used to that feeling in time 🙂
Cornwall would be a bit of a long trip, yes. 🙂 I was lucky enough to train down there but sadly haven’t flown over Cornwall since moving away in 2007. In the 7yrs I spent living there I still wish I had taken loads more pics from the air.. and on the ground too.

haha not quite got your flying stomach eh 😉 🙂 I actually felt a bit sick in the air back in 2010 during a flight over Cambridge and I have been flying since 2003. I think my sugar level dropped as after a divert and a cup of tea with 2 sugars I was alright again. I must have looked bad up there at the time as my mate, Tony, looked at me and said ‘Do you feel alright?’ 😀
Sounds like you had a good trip overall. If you ever get the chance, fly over Cornwall. That place looks amazing from the air.
