I will certainly be meticulous! When it comes to such things as my course I always make sure I cover all bases and therefore would do the exact same on the job 🙂 I feel sorry for the officer you spoke of.
I confess that I really want to be out on the beat for as long as possible. The idea of being tied to a desk job so early on in such a career isn’t so thrilling and I always believe officers should be out on the beat as much as possible.

Glad you enjoyed them. 😉 🙂 Perranporth is a lovely little beach. Used to go there a lot. The approach to runway 23 at Perranporth flies over the beach 🙂 I don’t think I ever went to that beach at ground level when the tide was out, so just like you, I’ve only ever seen it like that from the air.
Thanks ever so much. That’s the trouble nowadays, Thames Valley rarely take on new applicants for PC roles. They tend to have a preference to those either going down the special constable or PCSO route first with the ‘policing degree as a special constable’ being the third option. Not sure why they do it that way nowadays but that’s how it is.
Yeah I understand that there is a 2yr probationary period. Can you do sergeant exams while a PC before there is a sergeants opening or do you have to wait for a position to become available?

Jim, I had a feeling it would be the shopping centre. It’s what MK is stereotypically known for! 😉 I rarely go there. I’ve been in MK since 2007 and still get lost in that shopping centre!

Thanks ever so much. My criminology tutor has been incredibly pleased with my work and has encouraged me that I can make it when I do apply! I was meant to have PCSO interview in November last year but had to cancel as my nan kept having dizzy/faint spells and I couldn’t leave her in the house alone. So once I’ve started and finished Criminal Psychology I’ll apply to become a PCSO or PC (Whichever comes first) with the aim of ending up a PC either way.

What part of MK did you go to? I only ask because most people that come to MK only go to the middle where the shopping centre is or they go to Bletchley where Bletchley park is and neither really represent MK as a whole. The reason why I like MK so much is because we have the town/city life in the middle, the typical housing estates and then we have lakes, parks and woods that are nice and quiet. So it has the noise of any big town/city but then more tranquil areas that are nice and pretty too and as they are looked after by the parks trust (a charity setup to look after the lakes, woods and parkland within MK) those areas are nice, clean and tidy. I live within about 5mins walk of 1 lake and 10mins walk from another. 🙂

By the way Jim, I am still aiming to join the police. Almost done with the criminology diploma and will be starting criminal psychology in a few weeks 🙂

Currently I live in Milton Keynes and I love it here 🙂 A mix of a large town along with lovely parks, lakes and woods too (I am a volunteer with the parks trust that looks after it all) The estate that I live on has some lovely neighbours and a good resident association. So I’m happy here.

Previously I lived in West London (southall, where I grew up til the age of 16 ) and I was okay there. Loved having Heathrow nearby but the people were not so friendly. After that I moved to Redruth in Cornwall; Lovely place, friendly people, the beach 2 miles away but the weather was so changeable and my nan was not happy there so we moved to MK.
