Moving an oversized load is not easy, and night time is the best occasion to take one through a city. With the traffic at its minimum, the amount of disruption caused is minimal.
So I do not think that there was any ‘sheer urgency’ involved – just sensible route planning.
Well, rumor says total 2 prototypes were made, one is scheduled to have its maiden flight Aug/sept, SAC is in the region having the long winter, and the suitable flight window is really short.
That doesn’t mean that the wings and center fuselage are “forged as one piece”. They most certainly aren’t on the F-35.
At least the composite skin covers wing-fuselage of F35 is formed in once piece do you agree? Well, I know at least that of Boeing X-32 was done this way.
Also, there’s nothing unusual about having security and escort vehicles for such an oversize load, regardless of what it is. No “swat team” there. These are regular police unit. If this was a military object, wouldn’t there be a military escort?
It’s unusual about its level and scale:
They are SWAT team if you familar with Chinese Police Unit uniforms

And you also have to consider the main express way network in north China is sealed block by block, in order to give way for this special convoy, which causes massive chaos along the way. But it actually works for us as the traffic information helps locate the convoy’s whereabout.
And the Audi A6 which we used for measuring the length of this aircraft is a military vehicle. But escort still carried by civil forces as it’s civil matter.
lol wishful thinking. just because its not PS doesn’t mean its a stealth airplane. It could be a model, it could be a trainer, it could be something else. Given the size of the aircraft in comparison to the truck, i’m leaning more towards trainer or another light aircraft.. or a model
Judged by ur words, I feel very sorry about the name u used for your handle ID
…It easily might, if it is closely representative of a sensitive item. However, in that case the corollary is that a real project exists, which would make even a mock-up almost as big a revelation as if it was the actual article, granted. A more interesting question here is why they aren’t moving it at night if they are so concerned about it being seen.
Here is the grainy Handphone quality image taken at night time, obviously the sheer urgency makes the trip to be done day and night

The different angel does reveal more details of the plane
Might be, although that approach is somewhat unusual – most modern fighters retain separate wings, including the T-50, F-22, Typhoon and Rafale. However, at least the first two are considerably larger than this aircraft at some 15m, a length that puts it in the same ball park as the F-35 with its single piece upper wing/fuselage panel (so I guess it’s possible).
The large size of heavy new gen fighters like F22 or T50 or J20 simply makes integrated wings and fuselage much more difficult and costly. Though I won’t comment on eurocanards due to they are designed much earlier. Such technology is more applicable in medium aircrafts like the F35, see how the wing is mated with fuselage:
So no surprise, the F35 is also shipped in the same fashion:
A mockup doesn’t require a whole SWAT team to guard and express way sealed for the convoy.
A mockup should be easily dismantled and stuffed into a container for transport
The main wing is forged 1 piece with the fuselage, because of whole piece is too large to be stuffed into air lifter or container. It has to be shipped via road.
It’s heading towards North West of China, for static test most likely,
For those showing persistent “PS” syndrome towards everything Chinese, The reality is every PSed stuff in their mouth becomes real in past decade, this time won’t be any exception either 😉
SAC’s F60 finally transforming from model to reality:

However, the prototype can be accepted by PLAAF or PLANAF to become J21 or not is still everybody’s guess.
Europe including France…
I don’t know if Russia and China should really be counted yet, esp. China unless black paint counts for more than I think.
Korea has backed off trying for a stealth internal payload aircraft, but since internal payload isn’t really a new thing per se, you can count their Super Rafale project as 5th Gen if you want to……
The paint will fade sooner or later, but even with the faded color, it only adds another dimension to the elegance of J20. The beauty just stands by itself.

The non Chinese: Emmm, Apr 1st comes earlier? Why still so cold, who’s fooled?
The Chinese: I was hit even lied down, what’s next?
LOL, for your eyes only~

Where did the J-20 thread go? Any update on it or has it crashed?
U r rather funny, if u no longer post, can i assume u died? 😮
That piece of plastic? It’s nothing more than a plastic model.
I know tonight is a big day for kids, but don’t expect everything appears now is a toy. 😉
Image believed to be the J10B radar.

Confirmed the horizontally arranged IFF dipoles, but that L-band IFF should have nothing to do with the main array supposed to be X-band. So the arrangement of IFF can’t tell the Phased array is active or not.
However, from the back end, especially the black cable highlighted in the red circle, I believe it’s for signal transmission from back end, while a PESA doesn’t use cable for signal transmission but TWT, look at various AESAs, there is similar cable but PESA like Irbis-E, there’s none.
My pick as day 1, the J10B radar is AESA. As confirmed by the paper issued by the radar vendor, the Nanjing No 14 institute.

Enjoying your holiday!
Sadly again either an older photo or still the one with AL-31F’s.
Anyway a nice shot. 😀
Now, there’s a much clearer version of your pic posted on CDF:

The size is over 1.1M, quickly right click &… :diablo:
5 to 6 prototypes are putting the J15 in full steam to get certified. Because this year end is the deadline for such very.

WS10H version? No problem. Here u r and have a nice comparison.

Maybe some of our Photoshop savvy friends can morph an A-5 into a shape with two relatively large turbofans just for kicks.
With Turbofans, that would be a L-15 attacker version, actually the L15 was once considered to get the “Q-6” designation if PLAAF inducts it as a replacement of Q-5(A-5) .
