funnily enough, i mentioned this very date to bemused last week on MSN… (his alleged reason for taking the day of, incidentally… ;))
I need to visit my Bank Branch on Lothian Road in Edinburgh while I’m over, and I’m well up for stopping by with you guys while I’m there.
ah, yes, there is that… I believe AF are using Cimber to operate the LHR-LYS route at the moment.
All the times I’ve been at LHR, I also see quite a few AC example, but not just the A330. I have seen A340’s and 767’s as well. I’m guessing they have quite a few dailies from all 3 of their hubs in LHR. Then again, you usually see quite a few AA and UA examples, as well. I remember one pic that was posted a year or so ago, had 7 UA birds parked in T3 at once.
AC have 12 direct flights from LHR today (Sunday)…
1* A330-300 to Calgary, Alberta
1* 767-300 to Calgary, Alberta
1* A330-300 to Montreal, Quebec
1* 767-300 to Ottawa, Ontario
1* 767-300 to St. Johns, Newfoundland
1* A330-300 to Toronto, Ontario
1* 747Combi to Toronto, Ontario
3* 767-300 to Toronto, Ontario
1* A330-300 to Vancouver, British Columbia
1* 767-300 to Vancouver, British Columbia
(the St. Johns flight continues on to Halifax, Nova Scotia if I remember correctly)
I THINK OY-RJA is operating the SWISS service into LHR as it has been there lots this week.
No, the Swiss service is operated by A320’s. Cimber operate their own service (QI flight number) with SK codeshare to Copenhagen from Basel. Having said that, they’re [Cimber] also a member of Team Lufthansa, and OY-RJA used to be in LH colours as a franchisee… could it have been at LHR operating one of their flights?
Wot operated the LPL flight?? 733 or 737-700?
It’s scheduled to be 733’s. It was operated by G-EZYP yesterday, for instance.
The STN flights are also scheduled to be 733’s, but the Berlin flights when they start next Month are going to be A319’s.
oops, forgot the reggies there…
F-GOAF was the Air Méditerranée, and OY-RJA was the Cimber.
Swiss Saab 2000 HB-IYD
easyJet Boeing 737-300 G-EZYD
Air France A320-100 F-GGEG
Air Dolomiti Canadair CRJ200 I-ADJC, operating the Lufthansa Regional service to MUC.
I wouldn’t be surprised if ZRH was the worst… with a 5:50am departure time.
LH fly EDI-FRA. there was a rumour about a year or two ago that LH were looking at a MUC-GLA flight, but who knows?
I look for blueprints yes.
A good place is http://www.suurland.comBut sometimes, you have to wing it and find a picture on A.net that is as close to absolute side on as possible. Pictures, especialy close up one, are good for the little details like Flap fairings and doors.
Although my templates are only meant to be repesentational I do like to add a little bit of detail like door handles and pitots/ static ports etc.
If you’re looking for closeups of the Saab2000, you could probably do worse than cast your eye over my Barcelona report again… there’s about 3 or 4 pics of one during boarding.

*sigh* you’re telling me…
viva los 757.
Indeed, Gelsenkirchen is where Schalke are based, it’s 18 Miles West of Dortmund, 25 Miles North East of Dusseldorf, and 43 Miles North of Cologne.
And don’t get me started on those cheating, diving, whinging, time wasting Porto Bassas.
Is that going to be your first Ted flight, gd?
Switzerland does have a Navy… which is a bit mad that considering they’re neutral, so any member of the forces crossing the border in uniform is commiting a criminal offence… The Swiss navy boats are all registered in Basel, as Switzerland’s only ‘deepwater Port’… although the Ships themselves are based in the Mediteranean…
We all know the EU is very intelligent… who else but they could come up with the concept of having a fisheries minister from a land locked country?
Can I ask why today was a school hoilday? I’ve been wondering why so many spotty oiks were on the streets today. 😀
May Day, Allan.
