no, no, just laughing at the Gooners… And Real Beckham CF (apparently there’s a rumour that they have more than just the one player, though, although you’d never guess it listening to the english press…).

I do fancy Chelsea’s chances for the semi, though, and if Ranieri delivers the Champions League, I won’t have to worry about Abramovich (and just to give this thread a semblance of being aviation related, his Boeing 767-300ER, the ex N349HA of Hawaiian Air is currently having a VIP interior put in at Jet Aviation here in Basel (who, as regular readers will know were my former employers)) trying to Poach St. Martin of Derry (that’s Martin O’Neill to you). 😉

Did I hear somewhere it was just the Cargo aircraft affected by the ban?

I’m tempted to say Barcelona the other week, but that wasn’t so much aviation related as just me floating on air…

    erm, first and only cockpit visit, BA5403 (Zurich-Birmingham), 24/12/1990, BAC1-11-501EX, G-AXJK.

Either that, or my first Transatlantic flight… BA2199 (Gatwick-Pittsburgh, PA), 09/07/1997, Boeing 767-336ER, Club World. Didn’t get the reg 🙁

you could at least have put a picture of the -100 series in the top corner (as opposed to a -200), if you’re going to provide a cutaway of one. And anyway, the -100 series didn’t have an option of engines, only the CFM56, so there’s no point illustrating the -200’s IAE V2500 option…

because then you really are asking for trouble… if you let anyone post messages, then lots of windups could be posted anonymously, and those of us wishing to avoid them couldn’t add them to our ignore list.

the only thing with the 1/500 Saabs is they’re fcuking tiny. Even the Saab 2000, at an actual length of 27m3cm is less than 5 and a half cm long in the 1/500 scale. the 340 is only about 2/3 of it’s length ie the model is little more than an inch big 😮

dunno about in 1/400 scale, Ian, but I’m pretty sure they still have Schabak 1/500 LX models at the kiosk at BSL. Will look for you next time I’m along…

Ren, as Frank says, the A300 was named such as the original concept was for an aircraft that could carry 300 passengers (although it was shortend before it came into production). The A310 was a derivative of the 300 (did it have 10 less frames or something?)
The A320 was a completely different design, and as the 330/340 had already been conceived (jointly) by the time Airbus decided to offer an extended 320, this became the 321. When, shortly after a shortened version was offered, this logically became the 319.
The 340 did in fact take to service before the 330, but this was because the 340 had received more orders, so Airbus prioritised it during flight testing. Essentially, they’re structuturally identical except for the engines and their paraphenalia.

Finally, when yet another shortedned 320 series was planned, it was logical to make it the 318.

The 380 is the only one that dosen’t follow any real logical reason…

last flight was obviously my trip to Barcelona. 😀

    25/3 LX2991 BSL-ZRH Embraer ERJ-145LU HB-JAJ
    25/3 LX1952 ZRH-BCN Airbus A319-112 HB-IPR
    26/3 LX1937 BCN-BSL Saab 2000 HB-IZO

As for next trip, well, not quite sure yet… definately heading home to Glasgow at some stage during the Summer, also hoping to get to Gothenburg in mid-May (touch wood), and if we beat Dunfermline at Hampden next week, I’ll be off to the Cup final (It’s good to have mates with debentures for the red and blue monstrosity on the hill so you’re sure of a ticket… specially if they support Hibs so rarely need them themselves)

you use BBCode, gd. you insert (without the spaces) [im g]url of picture you want to use [/ img] (kinda like html, except you use square brackets instead of ‘<‘. It has to be done this way as the forum software (provided by BB) won’t allow html entries)

nb the picture in question has to be on the web somewhere.
