We were to land on Runway 34 at BSL, which isn’t equipped with ILS, so we came in pretty close as we flew parallel to 16.
It didn’t take long for us to reach cloud level, which was about the time for the compulsory distribution of Swiss choclates.
Shortly afterwards, we began our descent.
I took this picture out of the starboard side windows, across the aisleway. I *think* it’s Mont Blanc, can any of our pilots/regular flyers over the Alps confirm? Our Pilot didn’t make any announcement, other than that we were going from Marseille, over Lake Geneva, towards Berne and then north to Basel. (Incidentally, I thought it was rather funny that all the announcements got made in German, French, and English, but not Spanish… (although they had been on the flight from ZRH)).
The Cabin was pretty quiet throughout the flight; it was very enjoyable.
As we passed 28000 feet over Marseille, all I could think was “can you hear the Scousers sing? no, no, can you hear the Scousers sing? no, no”… :p
(no doubt any Geordies passing over Barcelona on their way back from Palma could have heard the noise we were making from up high ;))
It was around this point I took to staring at the Propeller. It was going so fast, i couldn’t even see it’s outline. I tried to take a photo, but you could see a blur then…
… up through the clouds…
The flight back to Basel lasted 1 hour 41 minutes, and there was plenty of time to contemplate the enormity of our result over a relaxing G&T (9 Franks from the drinks trolley), with some excellent views, as we headed first out over the Mediteranean…
And that’s were the Photos of other aircraft come to an end, unfortunately, as by the time we got back to Basel, my Battery was dead.
But I’ve still got a flight to report on, so let’s go…
Here we are just after liftoff.
Iberia Regional’s remote Parking, off Terminal C.
Then I had to drool again. 😀 (I’m not drooling over the RAM one, it don’t have no RB211’s…)
A brief look at the Terminal, and the word that was going round my head all the time… “we’ve just knocked Barcelona out of Europe… Barcelona. Barcelona”
I wasn’t aware Royal Air Maroc operated 757’s
As we started taxiing, I saw this Meridiana BAe146.
