and the KLM 737 behind it had the Webaddress colours on it.
Having taken my seat, I took to looking out the window and looking for anything else I could photo. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any registrations for any of these, so it’ll have to be visual recognition…
First, and a rarity I’d have thought, this Spanish Coast Guard ATR.
ALthough it’s still in Crossair colours, they’re making it totally obvious on whose behalf it’s flying…
You actually stand quite close to the Rolls Royce/Allison AE2100 A Engines on boarding…
And so we came to Boarding the Saab 2000 (I told you, Airline owner, there are plenty of pics of this… patience is a virtue, and all that… ;)). Wonder where those two chaps not wearing black have just been? 😉
And this Futura 737 was parked next to my Aircraft, HB-IZO, which as you can just about see, was still in it’s Former Crossair colours.
A quick enquiry of the Gate Attendant left me quite stunned. the Flight was full. Obviously, I knew it was only a Saab 2000 with 50 seats, but nonetheless, I’d only been expecting a 2/3 full plane.
It soon became quite obvious, though, that a reason for this may have been the half dozen or so Celtic fans heading back to Manchester, connecting through Basel (yet more sing songs onboard :D). I took a couple of pictures out of the Bus heading to my plane, although I don’t think the bus windows wern’t exactly designed to take photos from.
This all white 747 (I didn’t get the registration, unfortunately), might have been heading to Glasgow, too?
After taking this picture of an Iberia 757 (drool), I headed to my gate to have a look, only to find that as it wasn’t an EU destination (curse the Swiss) I had to go through Passport control, and then couldn’t get back to the main body of the Airport. Fortunately, I’d already been to the Duty Free Shop (Praise the Swiss for not being in the EU… ;)), so I wasn’t too bothered.
And again…
One of the Numerous Charters heading back to Glasgow, Mytravel (lite?) A320, G-FHAJ, on pushback.
Taxiing Midwest A310
like this TAP A319 right opposite the Security checks…
Having checked in for my flight straight back to Basel, I had a wee wander about and took some pictures of traffic at various gates…
ok, after an enthralling nil nil draw (my pants are still in the Laundry, incidentally), we had just a little Fiesta…
After spending the following morning trying to shake the hangover, er, I mean, cultural niceness of the Place, I headed back to the Airport around midday…
Don’t you love the name of the Airport, as it appears on the Screens at The Main Railway Station?
… and at half time (what do you mean there were only 5000 Celtic fans there? this is the home end, after all…;))
